What if the Weird Nerd Army is mostly bots? You can pay to get anything on Twitter: followers, likes, responses, retweets, etc.. It's not inconceivable to me that manboy can just click a button and release a torrent of little Twitter shadows of himself onto anybody he wants.

Okay, so let's look at that for a sec. He wants Twitter to be an everything app. Good luck achieving that, but what if... with your Twitter sub, it comes with a sub to most major news agencies. And Twitter becomes the 'Comments' section. I vaguely recall something about a mention that elon wants it to be the go to place for news.
Somehow it'll come out worse than Facebook for news, but what if the sub came with paywall free New York Times, WaPo, etc.

I really wonder how this is going to impact his other companies, on one hand he’s not there to micromanage *them* into the ground, on the other he’s proving rather loudly that he doesn’t understand people or money.
I play a free to play mobile game, it has millions of players, has no pay to win aspects and yet it pulls in a few $100 million a month. As a free player I am social whale bait, I make them money by populating the game so that the whale will spend a few $1000 on the McLarren Skin to show off to real humans they hope to dominate later in the game.
The amount of money I have indirectly made the game by being a living being that other richer humans can show off too almost certainly exceeds an $8 a month subscription I wouldn’t actually pay.
TLDR: Dear Elon, those free users and check marks where a large part of your sites content, you fucking idiot.
