The streets have been repaved and the clothing and cars are different (mostly) but a lot of towns around here look pretty similar. You have to go into the numerous antique stores or out in the country to see those soft drink signs however.

Here's the motherlode at the LoC: Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information Color Photographs. I like opening the first picture in the collection and then clicking the "next" link a couple of thousand times. This is why I have often spent entire lost weekends on the Library of Congress website. In fact, this weekend I spent a hefty chunk of two days clicking through the heart-wrenching pictures in the National Child Labor Committee Collection.

Just last night I was looking up this: Early Kodachrome Images I'd seen it a while ago, it's a slice of America during the Depression.
