I almost wet myself.
Yeah. Don't know if there's a smilie for that. I just saw the trailer for Elder Scrolls Skyrim. 11-11-11. I don't play a whole lot of video games lately, but this one will be mine.

Re: I almost wet myself.
As awesome as Fallout 3 was, I couldn't help but knowing that it would delay ESV so much.
Can't wait!

I was going to say that I'm entirely meh about this, because the Elder Lols games have, historically, kept me entertained for about an hour each, but then I realized that, as a side effect of cranking out another one, they'll have a modern engine to build Fallout 4 in, so yay!

Re: I almost wet myself.
Nope. It's a spin-off title in the Fallout 3 line that got farmed out to Obsidian. Fallout 4 will be a separate title that Bethesda is reportedly working on.

Re: I almost wet myself.
Honestly I like the elderscrolls better. Fallout is fun and all, but I can only spend so much time in a depressing post apocalyptic hell hole before becoming depressed myself.

I was hoping for something set in either Argonia or Elsewheyr, but I'm stoked nonetheless.

I haven't played fallout, but I love the levelling system in elderscrolls, the looting of bodies.

Re: I almost wet myself.
I love both games for different reasons. I loved the levelling system in ES, but I loved the landscape and the Pipboy in Fallout. I haven't played New Vegas, but it's on my list when the price comes down on the used copies a bit.
I have to say I was not so keen on parts of Oblivion, the revised levelling system wasn't as good to me. I loved how you could just rest anywhere in Morrowind and level but in Oblivion you had to find a bed.

Re: I almost wet myself.
Yeah, the bed thing was irritating. I liked the compass, didn't love the fast travel in Oblivion. The map was a pain in the ass to read in morrowind and it was hard to find where you were supposed to go.

Re: I almost wet myself.
I played and reasonably enjoyed Morrowind until I broke it.
Apparently, intelligence is the stat that affects the strength of your potions and success in making them. But! You can also make an intelligence boosting potion, and the ingredients for it can be had for cheap. And! You can sell strong potions for a lot of money.
So, you buy the ingredients, make intelligence boosting potion, drink it, make another, better one, drink it, make another, sell it for a hefty profit, buy more ingredients, and so on until you've got like +10,000 intelligence. Then you can also make +2,000 strength potions, levitation that lasts for 5 minutes, speed boosting potions that allow you to run across water, etc.
And after I did that I was like... meh, I'm done with this game.

Re: I almost wet myself.
I will give it a year or so until all the DLC comes bundled and all the mods to make it play properly have been written. I love oblivion but I don't want to play it straight out of the box and I think that skyrim will be just as half finished when they get round to releasing it

I see that they kept wolves in the game. Damned things. There's a reason I loved making touch-based (zero range) explosion spells.

At least they weren't as bad as those pterodactyl things from Morrowind.
