Let's do something different. I am looking for would-be administrators for small groups on the web. The topic of the group is the group itself. You will be in charge of administering the following rules:
1a) The administrators and/or mods shall not remove, edit or delete posts, nor delete threads, nor ban users, nor use any other automated moderation without the consent of a majority of the active elected membership.
1b) Rule 1a may be amended by a 2/3rds majority of the active elected membership.
As admin, you will have no power to make rules for the group. Your power will be only in the implementation of the rules. To begin, I reserve exclusive right to develop a complete body of rules for the group. You and the members can have input. I am willing to supply a complete training program for any admin that will best enable you to administer these rules. We can continue any discussions about these rules in the groups, once they are set up.
Sign me up for the group group group group. The topic of that group will be the group group group's administration of the group group's discussion about the group.
I will not partake in any of the sordid discussions in the group, group group, OR the group group group. Those conversations are beneath me.
The OP (both with and without the "er" at the end of the second word) strikes me as exceptionally vacuous, but worthy of discussion nonetheless. Let us talk serious talk in the private forums.

What is unusual about these rules is that they place the power in the hands of the elected membership. The members can gauge how much free speech they would allow. The agreement may be amended. I would prefer that it be nearly impossible for an admin to interfere in the speech on this forum. In the case of banning people from this forum, I would campaign for some number closer to unanimity, rather than a simple majority.
These rules appeal to me because in my over two decades of activity on the social web, I have never been alarmed by any poster on the Internet, and the behavior that I felt needed regulation was the behavior of moderators and administrators. Simply, because they pose the greatest threat to free speech on the social web. Therefore I am actively campaigning for a new generation of admins who shall agree to submit to the rule of a constitution. I am fully prepared to answer any and all questions or issues about my plans.
