There's a lot of writing about this, this is certainly one of them, there's more.

Anyone else been following this?

If they just 'update their process' instead of firing the people who made the decision, then it's clear they're only upset they got caught. You don't just oopsy into choosing a country known for censorship and then go ahead and censor books for them unless someone was making some money, and if no one's fired, those someones are clearly still in charge.

I'm reminded of the very old problem. A LOT of people just assume the people running shit are honest, they wouldn't steal, cheat, lie or con anyone.

The opposite should be the assumption.

The Barkely and Sanford report is worth reading. What a clusterfuck.

The latest is that some Chinese voters were discounted for being a "slate" — not illegal according to Hugo rules, and some winners wouldn't have been nominated if those votes had been considered.

Kudos to Samantha Wells, author of "Rabbit Test" for removing "Hugo Winner" from her bio and the cover of her next novel.

I think the most cutting comment I've seen yet was John Scalzi referring to Dave McCarty as "someone I'd considered a friend for over a decade".
