This is a different lake than last time.

I have a feeling it's going to be a lot of lakes. I meant to do a couple laps but I got turned around at the south end and ran halfway to another park before I figured out I was going the wrong way. whoops

Re: The It's Your Funeral (or how about let's not?) thrad 2023
Holy shit, I'm running again.
Mom asked me to run with her in Napa in April, and I had a choice to sign up for 5k or half-marathon. I can do 5k now, and I could be ready for a half before the end of the year if I really needed to, so I was like fuck it and registered for the half. So now I'm training for that.
In service of that training, I signed up for a 5k in September and a 10k in November. I scrolled past all the big destination runs, like Rock and Roll and Golden Gate, and found a couple of chill-looking local runs, trying to keep my shit low-stress, you know? Then my coworker saw me in my running clothes and we got to talking and she invited me to do the Golden Gate with her family. Then my gym buddies saw my runs on the app and they invited me to go to Rock and Roll with them.
So now I'm registered for twice as many runs as I had intended to register for. I guess we're doing this. I'm super happy about this. I feel great.

The Golden Gate run seems like a great place to wear one of the numerous Tie Dye shirts you’ll have by then!

Ooh, don't wear cotton, though.

Oh yes, I know nothing about distance running, please consult a physician before taking any of my advice, but really I don’t see what’s wrong with placing a clear plastic bag over your head to block the rain, you don’t even need to cut eye holes or anything!

Re: The It's Your Funeral (or how about let's not?) thrad 2023
I ran the Rock n Roll 5K in San Jose this morning. It wasn't my first RnR run (that was las Vegas a couple years ago), but it is the first one I've done that was walkable from my house. That and the half-off coupon from my gym are literally the only reasons I bothered. This one's a bit mainstream and commercial, you know? But the real clusterfuck will be tomorrow at the half, this morning was actually totally chill. bey walked there with me and we had coffees before the race.
I'm glad I went. There were a bunch of people from my gym there and I totally enjoyed myself during the run and before and after. I like this city a lot.

The clusterfuck tomorrow at the half-marathon is something I'm not going to be dealing with. Not sure if that came through in my post. We're going to the city tomorrow (the other city) for Dodgers at Giants.

Just finished Napa half-marathon with Mom. More details later, probably. I'm really tired right now for some reason.
