Yes, it is perfectly legal to charge us for putting my bleeding 4 yo in a room and ignoring him for 2 hours, at which time hubby brought him home uncared for by any medical professional and without so much as a wad of gauze to use for blood soaking. 142.00 is also apparently a totally reasonable fee for said sitting in a room.

I couldn't believe it when I called the insurance company, I was so sure they would go after them for fucking fraud or some shit. Nope, they can totally charge for room rental or whatever. My co-pay is only 15.00 and the insurance only paid 2.00, but WTF? It's all like some crazy game and I don't understand the rules.

I think the trick is, once you're in the room, you're already "admitted" into the ER. So you're a patient taking up resources, even if you leave in disgust after waiting 2 hours.

We've been through that crap twice now. First time, a bug flew into Li'l Puppet's eye and we couldn't get it out. They made us wait close to 2 hours, and right before the doctor finally showed up, my wife got the damned bug out herself. (It was a flying ant, which explains why it hurt so much -- I believe the little bastard was still alive for awhile in there.) What really sucks is that they should have at least paid my wife a fee for doing their fucking job. Second time was that Bounce U incident I ranted about earlier.

The rules are that people who currently have some kind of insurance get to feel like bigshots for making their copays and then go all howler monkey and claim that they're subsidizing the irresponsible, uninsured freeloaders who pay the full $142.

Know what the first thing they did was? TURNED ON THAT STUPID 9000 WATT LIGHT IN THEIR BACKYARD AND COLD FUCKING LEFT.

That fucking thing lights up our bedroom like it's daytime, and makes it so even MATLOCK can't sleep. Which is bad, because he's one of those assholes who can sleep no matter what. He frequently rubs this in my face by sleeping.

I told the old owner NOT COOL when he put it in, I called his real estate agent twice, told HIM not cool and made him come turn it off. I told them they need to just get rid of it. It's a code violation. And I am going to feel like the dickest of dicks if I have to report a fucking code violation because I am all about the no snitchin'.

But srsly, gaiz. It's like trying to fall asleep on the sun or something. So now I have to go write some note saying like "HOWDY new neighbors! I'm a smash the fuck outta that light in your backyard if I ever see it on again after 10PM, for fucking reals and I am not even playing!"
