Roasted squash and corn soup. I have many squashes and many corns that need eating. They ain't exactly market fresh, so soup is the solution.

You could make me some corn fritters and shrimp/crab boil. I'll throw in a trip here!

Re: What's for Dinner?
Tonight the kids already had cereal for dinner, so later on, we're having 3 side dishes as kind of a second dinner while we watch TV, and I made them all myself. Guacamole, salsa, and hummus (with red peppers, tonight). We'll eat the first two with tortilla chips, and the hummus in wraps with spinach leaves. These are things we used to buy in plastic tubs until fairly recently; I've been making my own hummus for a year but I just learned how to make the guacamole and salsa within the past few weeks (it is so easy).

Re: What's for Dinner?
Homemade guacamole is the best.
I had a cold meatloaf sandwich and entirely too much chocolate.

We have a billion pounds of chili left over from last night, plus we have vegetable soup from before that, plus pot roast from some other day.
So that stuff. Or whatever. I don't care.

Quarter of a mini-pumpkin pie, half a mug of eggnogg, an apple, and a samosa/burrito thing with chutney, quarter of mini-pumpkin pie.

Re: What's for Dinner?
I'm dying for something besides leftovers so I'm going to attempt to cook some bratwurst and some sort of vegetable tonight.

We had those little muffin tin meatloaves last night with mashed potatoes and broccoli.
Maybe we'll have pork chops tonight, maybe just garlic spaghetti or something. I dunno.

Rotisserie chicken and baked beans.
I'm sorry to say that I et the whole chicken all by myself. I've had serious munchies recently. No reason.

That's what I've done every year I've worked there, except when I couldn't make it.

Pork chops and noodles with gravy and probably just some frozen mixed vegetables because I forgot to get anything for salad.

Re: What's for Dinner?
Appetizer: rosemary-garlic crackers with some weird but tasty spreadable cheese )happy cow? laughing cow?) and tapenade
Salad: Greek (composed, no lettuce)
Entree: Grilled chicken with ranchero sauce (fresh jalapeno added to add extra kick) over Spanish rice.
Dessert: Jamaican Me Crazy (Ben & Jerry's sorbet) drizzled with chocolate sauce and garnished with fresh blackberries.
It's like an international convention!

Bold claim!
I haven't tried that in a long time but my current favorite is Texas-Texas Perfect Hot.
|
It turns out I've never tried Texas-Texas salsa, I was actually thinking of Clint's Texas Salsa.
However, because of this I bought a jar of Texas-Texas Perfect Hot and a jar of Green Mountain Gringo Medium (they didn't have hot). The latter was aight but still tasted more like salsa out of a jar than Clint's does. I haven't tried the Texas-Texas yet.

Re: What's for Dinner?
I can attest that Green Mountain Gringo used to be better. I like it a lot more than others I've tried. The hot used to be hot enough that I'd have to stop every so often to rest.

Re: What's for Dinner?
I hear Salsaman salsa is awesome. The grocery store I worked for sold it for like $4 a jar.
I made Pioneer Woman's yogurt chicken.
For lunch was this delicious northern Indian place. I had basmati rice, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, and garlic naan.
