“What I’m going to do is, I will eliminate everyone in the comms team and we’ll start over,” he said. I laughed, not sure if he really believed that such a threat would convince a journalist to reveal a source. He continued to press me and complain about the staff he’s inherited in his new job. “I ask these guys not to leak anything and they can’t help themselves,” he said. “You’re an American citizen, this is a major catastrophe for the American country. So I’m asking you as an American patriot to give me a sense of who leaked it.”

Imagine if someone were to hack/bribe someone at FOX News to do a signal intrusion of some sort. Ten minutes later feverish tweets about how only Trump is the one who can deal decisively with the bubonic plague carrying space aliens.

That was a sublime nonapology which named absolutely nobody and can be read in many ways.
The behavior of the audience might be less political than the scouts just having a grudge with Obama peronally - he snubbed them one grand jamboree and phoned in another, which is almost as unheard of as Trump shitting up their stage.
I liked the suggestion I read in the comments there that a nondenominational BSA shouldn't be bringing in political authority figures. Bring in a scientist, a veteran, something like that - they might have something interesting to say.
Okay, after some thought and a reread, I find the "apology to" as distinct from "apology if" an important point. Ultimately, a real apology is a change of behaviour going forward, but in this case, to what? Nebulous thought alert: How many long standing traditions need to get kicked to the curb because of Trump? Probably something bigger given 62 million people voted for pussy grabbin'.

Time to shitcan these establishment Republicans and fill up the West Wing with true believers.

Ryan-Priebus ally to me: next phase of Trump presidency will be warfare against GOP Congress 5:23 PM - Jul 28, 2017
This is definitely a brilliant political strategy that is certain not to backfire on the president* in any way, especially with Republican Congresscritters already giving every indication that they'll side with Sessions over the president* if it comes down to it.
One thing I will never forgive this administration for is making me feel bad for horrible people like Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, Reince Priebus, Sean Spicer, and so on. Yet all these people simply aren't as horrible as the president*.
