The only way DeSantis gets the nomination though if it Trump is thrown in jail, and I bet he'd still insist on being the nominee so he can pardon himself if he wins (as vomit inducing as that reality would be).

Who is a family guy, who does what he says he’s gonna do, and pretty much upsets his peeps who don’t like him. DeSantis 2024. You could absolutely piss off so many people over a completely meaningless thing by calling it "San Fra." For years there's been a debate over "Frisco" but it's certainly used by locals, whereas "San Fran" is used pretty much exclusively by outsiders. Getting a bit creative, I've heard someone say "Cisco" but that's dumb, that's a company, but "San Fra" that's just the right tweak to tweak people being overly serious about slang.

Maybe by then his wife (who so badly wants to be FLOTUS) can teach him how to eat pudding ... and maybe smile and laugh like a normal person.

Someone sat on this since 2020 (probably didn't bother with it before because Lt Gov doesn't matter?).
This guy stands out among Republicans for shittiness, which is quite the achievement.
ETA: Apparently, that video cuts off some relevant context. What he says is still stupid and a bit revealing in a way. His point was something like, that back then they were fighting for real justice and Republicans were leading the charge. But saying you'd like America to go back to when women didn't have rights so you could heroically fight for their rights is not really great either. A bit like a firefighter who's an arsonist so that he can heroically fight the fire.
I suppose his other point is that modern civil rights movements are all bullshit compared to women's suffrage and anti-lynching, but I'm going to take it as the more accurate "but Republicans don't fight for stuff like that anymore".
Nonetheless, I stand by my evaluation of him, which is based also on his anti-abortion nuttery, Holocaust denial, anti-Semitism, rampant anti-LGBT bigotry, anti-black racism* and insane conspiracy theorizing.
