This weird extended and public questioning of the candidacy is likely to hurt the chances of any Dem winning though. Possibly some of them are stupid enough to not realise that, or they think that Biden's chances are so low they need to everything they can to get him to step down, but I am starting to wonder if some people are giving up on Biden winning and acting to improve their personal positions, whether that's influence within the party or keeping donors who are threatening to pull support. That would explain why Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez, who have less to gain/lose from those sources, are lining up behind Biden while more mainstream Dems are failing to present the united front you might expect (perhaps while having the difficult discussions behind closed doors and reaching a party decision that way).

I have seen a number of talks he has given since the debate where he sounds fine to me. He appears lucid, and in control, though his occasional Stutter and reset may appear more prominent, sometimes. This can be attributed to his awareness of the attention he receives during pressers, causing him to be a bit more self-conscious, perhaps.

Giving speeches has never actually been his strong suite.

To be clear, I have never really been Biden's biggest fan. There are a number of political notions of his with which I disagree. But, HEY! He is NOT TRUMP!

If the Democrat powers that be can come up with someone who really could show up and prove a good candidate in such a short time frame, I'd be willing to consider them, but The party has become so entrenched with Joe, now, I don't see anybody on the field of play that the Dems, as a group, could get behind in time for the election. And, if one suddenly turned up, I'd be suspicious.

Maybe? Harris did well as a Senator in California before she tanked early in the 2020 Presidential race... Then again, Biden shat the bed on own his Presidential runs, became Obama's VP and then the clear front-runner in 2016 and 2020.

The Rethuglican challenges over state ballot processes will be numerous, although they may not be interesting.

Well, that changes things a bit.
Some random thoughts bubbling up:

It is going to be an interesting Election season. I am anxious to see what Harris come s up with. She has spent several years just being the back-up President, biding her time. I hope she can make the most of the next few months.
It will be interesting to see who's hats land in the ring this week.
The Primaries all over, the first ballot at the convention is pretty well set, with Uncommitted being the second place finish, and now all of Joe's delegates will be asked to shift their alliance, I guess.

Will Misogyny ruin the moment?

In retrospect, I think it might have been a better ploy for Joe to actually step down, and leave the job to Harris. She'd have three months at the helm to show her stuff, before the election. I reckon he does still have that option.

And, yes, I'll vote for her (Hell, I'd vote for Clem Kadiddlehopper over Trump)
