Well, no, don't hold up the whole game on my account. I just figured if it started on Monday, people could cast aspersions about without my assistance for a day. Technically I suppose I can sneak on real quick Monday night / Tuesday morning after my flight but before my sleep. No promises that I'll be coherent at that hour, though.

Re: Mafia III Signup
I suggest two mob and 1 traitor for this version, especially if you don't have a vigilante. The other option for the vigilante is that he doesn't have to kill each night but can choose to.

Re: Mafia III Signup
I think it is better to have a vigilante that get 1-3 kills for the game. He can use them any night he wishes. Max 1 / night.

Re: Mafia III Signup
i really like the recruit option as well, adds spice to the game, but it should be a hidden recruit. ie the mob kills as well, so no one will have any idea when it happens and will be looking for changes in style throughout.
just my opinion, of course its all up to you vm.
no pressure.

Re: Mafia III Signup
That makes sense. If the vig doesn't kill every night, and the mob kills and recruits on the same night, there would be no way to tell if or when the recruit happened (would there?). Also I was thinking something else, but now I forget what.
ETA: Oh yeah! Also, if there was a situation like last time where the cop managed to out two mafia, the town could lynch the one and the vig kill the other on the same day, and it wouldn't take up two days of the game.

Re: Mafia III Signup
There are probably a bunch of people who aren't going to be able to fit. If that happens maybe we should knock a few people (2-3) off this game and create a second one running simultaneously.
I'm also down for werewolf next.

Re: Mafia III Signup
Well the "basic 12 player" game laid out at Mafiascum is 3 mafia, 1 doc, 1 cop, 7 townies. So I think with 15 players we should have at least 4 mafia, 1 doc, 1 cop. I don't much like the vigilante 'cause it gives one player too much power imo. I'm down with hidden recruiting for the mafia, since I think that would work much better than the other way.
So right now I'm leaning toward 3 mafia to start with 1 hidden recruit, no vigilante.
What do y'all think about having two cops so they can share info and have more influence on voting? It struck me that although the cop was able to find mafia from night one (which she did) she couldn't really use that information effectively until she was about to die. If she'd had a co-worker they could've leveraged off each other to sway people toward killing the known mafia early on. Then again, maybe that's too much power for the townies?

Re: Mafia III Signup
might be too powerful, i understand what you mean, but that is what makes being the cop so difficult to play it always a choice on when to come forward.
hmm, but you would have a high number of mafia for only 15 players so it might work well.

Re: Mafia III Signup
But the mafia has the advantage of knowing who's innocent and who's not. The two cops would be restricted by having to look up each player and trying to pass the info on to the townies without getting themselves killed.
We can try that out in the next game and see if having two cops skews the game too much. Or even forbid the cops from communicating with each other, in essence, you'd be making them undercover cops.

Re: Mafia III Signup
Another possibility is to have the retired cop role... that means if the cop dies, someone else becomes the cop. It'd probably be best if the info did not get inherited. And I'm not sure if the retired cop knows that he/she has that role.

if its two cops viewing independently then they shouldnt be able to communicate and certainly no doctor either way i think.

I wouldnt mind playing mafia while running a werewolf game. I can start a sign up now, or wait a few days to let people come down from the last game.
How many players should I limit the game to and how many specials should be in the game?

Yeah I'm thinking two cops who can communicate and investigate one player per night.

I couldn't handle two WW games at the same time so I'll stick to the Mafia one here.

I'd rather wait to see if there is enough interest. With 21 people participating in game 2 and more (Ensign Steve, godfry, and Lees, plus maybe wei yau) being added on top of that, there's easily enough for 2 games assuming everyone wants to play. So maybe if people would post in here so we can see how many people are into it. If it's at least 20 I'd say make the games 10 and 10 or 15 and however-many-are-willing.
I don't feel up to playing two games at the same time, though, others might.

If anyone thinks this is too powerful, then it would be weaker by having one cop that can view twice per night. (Weaker because it's all over if the cop dies, unlike the first scenario, plus the lack of voting influence)

Re: Mafia III Signup
Playing WW at II. I think I want to come up with a Deadwood storyline too for GMing one, but I won't have the time right now. Don't worry I'll be back.
