If I could finally divorce myself from WoW, I'd have more time for it. Though I need to start focusing on LOTRO, seeing as I'm going for guild membership and all.

I'd definitely go halfsies if I could be guaranteed that Uth would be griefing him every time I logged on.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
I picked up CoV a while ago, liked it quite a bit. It just hasn't been at the top of my list for pay-to-play games. Looks like it might be soon, though, as I'm bored with the current ones and won't have the money for my copy of WAR until December, if you can believe it.

They've recently announced the port to Mac. I'm pretty excited about that, not just because I've a shiny new Mac.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
I hooked up with my old sg,
wei, if you decide to play on liberty at all, I can get you hooked up with them. they also have a vent server, and talking over a mic is so much better than typing.
anyway, look me up.

Ooh, I missed your post bey. Next time I'm on I'll look you up.
Just chat @beyelzu, right?
I'll probably have to just type for now as I have two turntables, but no microphone

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
I posted this on the other gaming geek thread, but figure that those of you who have had experience with CoH can better answer.

There's this weird thing in CoH that keeps happening to me. Gamers keep asking me if I can join them for a just a minute. I wouldn't have to do anything, but it will help them a lot.
I've no idea what they're on about, so I always politely decline.

So, what is that all about?
Oooh, also since I bought the CoH/CoV combo game, I get a VIP Pocket D pass.
What is it?

its called padding, you join the team, they set the mission, and run around the map, making all the mobs appear, since more appear based on the extra player[s] it results in more xp and/or better drops on farm runs.

I have no idea, pocket d was the first villain/hero area iirc, i think you can run coop mish with the villains there but I am not sure, it is like a nightclub btw.

yeah cuz playing a comic book based mmorg didn't make me a nerd, but naming a character after a character in the greatest fantasy series ever does.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
So, I'm really, really, really enjoying this game so far. Not only am I getting less sleep and missing TV shows, but I've also curtailed spending on my other hobbies to pay for this one.
Here are some observations about this game:
- BrotherMan is cool for showing me the basics around the game. Also looking forward to hooking-up with bey.
- Leveling up 12 characters together is a long-drawn out process. Still, as I've been told, it's a great way to explore and learn all about the game.
- I think I like playing villains more than heroes. No big surprise, really. But, the hero cities seem to be more expansive.
- Galaxy City is empty compared to Atlas.
- The criminal denizens of the aforementioned cities are either very brave or incredibly stupid. I've got a hero that sets fire to people. Still, even as they watch one of their homies get burned alive, they come at me.
- I giggle whenever my Tanker wielding a ginormous lumberjack ax wades into a cluster of gangers. He just swings that blade, there is a wet squelching sound whenever he connects. I can only imagine the amount of gore in such a fight. Still, when it's over, a grateful citizen always comes up to thank him.
- The Vlahizok are nasty. Just plain nasty.
- Sure, I get ambushed by Clockwork robots whenever I venture too far from city center. But, when I need to smash five of them to fulfill a mission, there are none to be found.
- A hero cannot stop every single purse-snatcher he sees. There are just way too many of them.
- I've got flight envy. And I'm jealous of those tall-building leapers, too. It takes forever to run across town.
- I've no idea how to start RP'ng with others. Do you just start with a greeting in hero-ese?

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
i have no idea i have never been much of an rper, i would imagine you would need to hook up on the forums though, and there is probably a chat channel for some of them. there was one for badge hunters back in the day.
yes when a hero or villain gets his travel power it is definitely a good time.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
"ill/kin troller"?
"sos range"?
God, I've got so much more to learn.
