Yeah, that seems likely. The only way he'd actually have a chance of being convicted is if he blunders it up so badly that even Republicans worry about the optics. They got away with it the first time mostly because people didn't pay attention to the actual charges, and believed him when he said he was fully exonerated.

If Trump actually tries to mount some crazy defense this time, even the ignoramuses will hear about it.

He wouldn't be criminally convicted from impeachment itself. He won't be convicted anyway because too many of his co-conspirators get to vote on it, but they could bring separate criminal charges afterward. And there are possibly some other criminal charges on the way, in New York, Georgia, and maybe elsewhere.

I don't think impeached officials lose security detail even if they're convicted, and I'm just guessing, but if he did go to prison, that'd probably be something they have to figure out then.

Disclaimer: I could literally be wrong about everything. I don't know much about this stuff.

It just occurred to me, you know that thing where accused criminals will show up for their trials all frail looking, with wheelchairs or walkers, talking in little feeble voices, to try to get people to pity them? Like Harvey Weinstein and the Golden State Killer?

I'd like to see that. It's one of those things where good people would love it and bad people would hate it.

Then, afterward, I want him to be in prison like on Oz and the never hear from or of him again.

It is good. There's a fair amount of violence, but there's also a bunch of naked men.

It really is pretty intense, though. I liked it a lot, and would recommend it if you're OK with that sort of thing.

I've been thinking of doing a rewatch of OZ. I haven't watched it since it originally aired. I just finished Sopranos and I meant to move on to OZ next but I forgot and ended up starting Orphan Black instead, so I have to finish that first. A couple
of the actors from OZ are also in Lost, which I love.
