Scientists predict that a pair of stars in the constellation Cygnus will collide in 2022, give or take a year, creating an explosion in the night sky so bright that it will be visible to the naked eye.
If it happens, it would be the first time such an event was predicted by scientists.
Wait, it has been predicted. Is this just sloppy writing for "correctly predicted"? Has such an event been incorrectly predicted before?
Obviously it will be supercool (and in fact ultrahot) if it happens, but mostly what the articles (this one and its source) talk about is how a few (plucky) astronomers (astronomy prof and students) are predicting something may happen.
Science isn't clean and scientists don't all agree. Who knew?

If you ignore the click bait title, this is actually quite fascinating. That the stalking nd killing behaviors are located in slightly different networks of the brain could help shed light on things like domestication processes and how animals see other animals. This also supports the idea there is a hunting instinct in the first place.
A small step towards artificial life (as usual rather overblown by typical science reporting) and another application of the fascinating CRISPR technology. Pretty cool.
And this is also pretty interesting: "time crystals". Materials that have the repetitive pattern of a crystal, but are not in equilibrium, and repeat themselves in 4 dimensions. I wish I had more than a vague inkling of what that meant! Physics boffins, rescue me!
I'm not convinced what they describe really fits the term "crystals" - it sounds like what they've made is driven by laser pulses and surprisingly resonates at a different frequency. If it was a stable oscillating system without external control that would be more of a time crystal.

So Ari, are you intentionally dishonest, or are you just that stupid not to understand what you posted?

You should have checked the source of his map, it is after they jiggered with the data, that is the point.

Your map is made-up, that is the point. Its not data, that is the point.
They had to make-up data that does not exist to show warming.

You should chat to peacegirl Jerome; the two of you have much in common!
