This is p. goddamn amazing. Looking forward to the end of the month when I can get my grubby mitts on the whole album.

Ups to this 2000s band for basing a music vid on the 1971 "cult classic" flick Vanishing Point.

How have I never heard of that movie? I'll have to see if I can stream it.

A 100% AI generated song. Lyrics, vocals, and instrumentals, all AI using Suno AI. I'm assuming the pictures this person used are AI.
It's better than I expected. If it was higher quality, was cleaned up with some mixing, and those verse transitions were smooth, it would be a decent song.

I just felt like exploring the Russian synth scene some more.

Three tunes from Steven Wilson's upcoming album released thus far, all top notch. Here's one featuring Israeli movie/teevee/music star Ninet Tayeb.

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
I sometimes listen to Spotify while working. This morning, it offered me a "Happy Mix" of The Cure, Honeyblood and more! None of the named bands I would consider "Happy"
Instead I'm listening to "charming echo monday morning" - which is remarkably similar to the "Happy Mix" only less recent songs - alternative acts of the 80s.

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
I exclusively listen to electronic music, and have been for about 22 years now. I heard it for the first time on the radio and never stopped listening. I remember I got bullied for it in school because it was "faggot music", which is really funny, because when dubstep came from the UK to the US when I was in high school, suddenly EDM was cool and everyone jumped on the bandwagon. I had already heard dubstep and grew tired of it before any of my classmates were even aware of it. I hate kids, and I'm still butthurt about that.
I went through my phase around 18-25 years old when I was going to raves and nightclubs and doing as many drugs as possible. I mostly liked trance music.
I still exclusively listen to electronic music, but I keep it to anything soft. I'm really into space music and psychedelic downtempo and psychedelic ambient. I think it's because I place a massive value on peace-of-mind due to adulthood stress, and I seek calm wherever possible. Anxiety issues from unresolved childhood trauma that still crop up and what-not.
Carbon Based Lifeforms doesn't have many equals in the psybient space. They have a very unique sound and when I think relaxing psychedelic music, I think of CBL.
The first time I listened to EDM live was a Stoneface & Terminal show at a nightclub in Austin, TX when I was freshly 18. Trance legends. I still remember there was barely anyone there, which was unbelievable. They dropped their new track "Blueprint", which is still awesome 15 years later.
I was sober at the club, but hearing my favorite music live for the first time and this track that was later checked into the trance hall-of-fame was an incredibly euphoric experience.

I remembered the name of a band I'd heard of ages ago but never listened to, I didn't even know the genre. So, I looked them up.

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
Electronic, eh? Well, Autechre is still awesome after all this time.
Richard Barbieri (Japan, Porcupine Tree):
And being an old fuck, my favorite run came from 1972-76 when the classic lineup of the German band Tangerine Dream put out the albums Zeit, Atem, Rubycon, Phaedra and Stratosfear:

Electronic music, you say? I was in school when Oxygene came out. This was like nothing else we knew. Cassette tapes were swapped.
