The documents state that during the event — which started Sept. 29 and went past midnight — Schillinger’s then-boyfriend allegedly grabbed a 16-year-old by the neck for intervening in a fight between the couple and hit a 15-year-old in the face during an argument over football. According to the allegations in court papers, her intoxicated mother also punched the older teen in the eye and chased him around the kitchen island. Police said they had cellphone recordings of some of these reported events.
I think this is just exactly the kind of person I expected from that.

I am missing the part where the survivor is forcing someone else to fake cancer, which makes me feel like we're in a very different category of weird behavior.

I just hope she doesn’t try to move on with her life by being an attention grabber or by trying to stay in the spotlight. That’s the way her mother was but gained attention by making her sick and convincing her to act sick.

There's a large range between "wanting to be in the spotlight a bit" which is harmless, and "torturing people enough that when one of them kills you, your father flushes your ashes down the toilet".

Did Gypsie Roses family say this?

Dee Dee's family in Louisiana, who had confronted her about her treatment of Gypsy years before, did not mourn her. Her father, stepmother, and the nephew who first shared details of Gypsy's actual health when she first started using a wheelchair all later said that Dee Dee deserved her fate and that Gypsy had been punished as much as she needed to be. None of them would pay for her funeral, and her father and stepmother flushed her ashes down the toilet.
I think that suggests that Dee Dee's behavior was significantly worse than merely "wanting to be in the spotlight a bit". I know people who want some amount of spotlight time. It's not really a significant problem.

And, when people follow you around with a camera there is a tendency to pan for them a bit.

A couple of my friends are Munchausen-by-Proxy survivors. They tend to have just beautiful senses of humor, if they lived.
One of my favorite quips:
"My mom faked breast cancer. Should I start faking my test results early because of my family history?"

They can call it whatever they want, I'm probably gonna keep using the familiar name when I'm in non-clinical contexts.

The sad truth Chappelle was never angry at the system of rich people abusing the poor, he was only angry it was happening to him. Once he got rich he's been on a 'fuck you I got mine' bender ever since. A major lesson I've learned is just because someone is angry at the same things as I am, doesn't mean they're on the same team.
Any fan who thinks it's harsh calling him a NIMBY bootlicker of the system should be shown the video of Chappelle getting up in front of a village council meeting and making no arguments except that if low income people live near him, he's leaving and taking his ball with him.
The whole 'punching down' shtick is just a smoke screen, targeting another set of people who think that just because he's angry about the same things he's on their side when in reality anyone who's complained about the price of Netflix is someone Chappelle doesn't want to be around.
Update: 5 of 6 people on the coastguard plane have died.

In the video I saw it looks like the wing struck something (the coast guard plane maybe) and burst into a trailing fireball. Which eventually engulfed underneath the wings once stopped. There's no timestamp in the video but it seems like they managed to evacuate everyone before it got into the cabin proper.
This came oh so close to being 300+ people dead, the crew should get some sort of medal or at least a solid handshake.
