I have hot water again after two weeks of cold showers!
And I just played a game of chess with Dan Barker.

Re: What's up with you?
Was this day two for that shirt? If that is the case, you still have two more days before you are done with the shirt.
Day 1: Right side out - front side front.
Day 2: Inside out - front side front.
Day 3: Right side out - back side front.
Day 4: Inside out - back side front.
Day 5: Buy a new shirt.

I went to a Drink and Draw competition at my local Mellow Mushroom. Despite zero artistic talent, and stiff competition, my picture poems won third place. (I manage a silhouette and fill it in with words.) Mr. Monde's beautiful sketches won second. So we won two gift bags full of art supplies for his students. I'm just tickled I placed.

Aww, I thought it would be some kind of drunken Pictionary, which also sounds totally fun.
I went to the dentist yesterday, and signed up to have a bunch of work done. I'm going to get my shitty army work ripped out and replaced with the pretty white stuff (you know, that shit that makes your teeth all sensitive and sticks to bubblegum but it looks good) and I'm finally going to get my front two fixed (again ... this time permanently, or so they say) so they can look all shiny and symmetrical in my wedding photos. The point is I have the best dental insurance I've had in a long time and I'm going to get all this done on the cheap.

Am down to four days a week permanently. Have been caught up in kid birthday and kindergaarten stuff. Really want to breathe a bit and goof off but haven't had the time.
Happy living with JoeSix.
Planning to post more.

Re: What's up with you?
Going to hang out with my buds from high school at a cabin in Waterloo, AL. It's been a couple of years since we had one of these outings and I'm stoked.
I hope this cabin is as nice as the other one we stayed in. That one is no longer available as its owner decided to start living in it. Can't blame her, but ... dammit!

The hard part will be raining the neighboring villages, gonna have to hire a shaman for that bit of work, or drink more fermented mare's milk.

Re: What's up with you?
I went down to Point No Point Lighthouse and sat under the moonless night sky dripping with stars. It was dark enough to see the Milky Way. Twas awesome! That was after going to a local eatery and having a glass of wine with a friend. After wards we sat in my vehicle and talked for hours. I love times like these!

Re: What's up with you?
Hint: Beowulf and Grendel are both gay and Grendel is into rough sex. You can take it from there.

Re: What's up with you?
That reading does have a contextual beauty about it when one considers his sword fails when confronting Grendel's momma.

Re: What's up with you?
Not much up with me, but there is something that is down, my weight. I've lost over 17 pounds since September 1st, beating my 11 year old record of 16 pounds lost in two weeks the first time I went on a low carb diet. Of course, this time I'm starting at more than 30 pounds higher than I was then.

Re: What's up with you?
After spending the day friday working the United Way day of caring taping doors, painting and clean baseboards. I am finally able to move around without much stiffness and pain. I feel very good about the work we did for DVIS and I know it was much appreciated. Tried to celebrate our 33rd wedding aniversary on Friday, but was to tired and sore to really enjoy it. We went out for dinner, but I ended up vomitting. I think it was the mixed drink I had ordered, not use to the mixture and I got to leave those damn straws alone...... We did make up for it however by going to the movies on Saturday. While Warren has lost 17 lbs., I have lost 3. I will get that final 30 lbs off while he is working to get his undisclosed amount to melt away.

Re: What's up with you?
Not sure where to put this, and I don't feel like starting yet another new thread to celebrate the latest stupid thing I did.
My wife's alarm went off this morning. In my sleepy stupor, I thought it was mine. After fumbling at it I finally managed to get it to stop, or so I thought. But I did some really weird things to it and it seemed to be reset to midnight. Fuck, I'll fix that later. Got up. Took a shower. Damn, I'm REALLY tired. Maybe I had one too many drinks last night, but I wasn't drunk or anything.
I brushed my teeth and shaved, and then looked up at the clock in the bathroom. 12:15? Oh, that's right, the power went out ... wait a second, that's a battery-operated clock. Just a coincidence that the battery died the same day we had a power outage?
After several checks, yes, it was really midnight. I had been asleep an hour and a half when that alarm went off.
I had fixed all the clocks after the power outage, but in resetting my wife's clock, I hadn't reset her alarm time.
So I'm entirely ready for work. At 12:20 a.m. I got a towel to toss on the pillow and went back to bed, but that bizarre disruption did some freaky things to my head. So my posting today may be weirder than usual.
Oh, shut up.
