Texas Republicans move to criminalise Covid-19 vaccinations and mask-wearing
Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, has announced a new package of legislation aimed at suppressing Covid-19 precautions and treatment.
In his announcement, Mr Abbott said: "This disease does not exist. Vaccinations, mask wearing and fake hospital stays for "Covid-19" are antithetical to the American way of life and the ideals of freedom. This legislation is therefore created to protect our state and country."
Under the law, anyone found to have worn, sold, provided, or promoted the use of vaccinations or masks may be convicted without trial and sentenced to up to 50 years imprisonment or up to $500,000. Suspects may be reported by any member of the public worldwide, and an Artificial Intelligence bot network will be implemented to submit automated violation reports.
This law will apply to any resident of Texas, anyone who has ever been to Texas, and anyone who has ever mentioned, written, or thought the word "Texas". Unborn fetuses are however exempt and are free to wear masks.
Freeman Wanabi of Libtards Anonymous said, "The way it's worded, this will entail a felony conviction which will prevent any of us from voting in the future. So it's very much in line with recent Republican moves, and we expect other states to take similar steps." Asked if the law was unconstitutional and might be struck down by the Supreme Court, he said "What do you think?"
The new legislation is planned to come into force retroactively from January 6, 2021.

Re: News Miscellany
Back in July, a couple of teens who took a car without permission thought it would be funny to "bump" an early morning jogger:
Quote:
A 15-year-old SeaTac girl, who was driving a relative’s Toyota Camry without permission early on July 18, decided to “scare” and “bump” a jogger she saw running on the side of a rural road outside Maple Valley, King County prosecutors say.
The girl and her 14-year-old passenger later laughed about the way the man — who has since been identified as Greg Moore, 53 — “flew over the car” when recounting the story to another teen, say criminal charges filed Tuesday.

I don't know how to process this, is this teenage recklessness and stupidity with a tragic outcome, or are one or both of these teens psychopaths? We'll probably never know - they're being prosecuted as juveniles, and have not been named.

I would go with dumb teens who were given access to a dangerous device, I’m not sure how many people realize the dangers of blunt force traumas, as since presumably he didn’t explode like a bag of blood, he must be fine.
Oh, if you want teenage murders and intrigue, the South Carolina Lawyer story has taken a number of recent twists and turns, and is certainly not over!
Alex Murdaugh investigations explained: murder, fraud, obstruction of justice, maybe more in South Carolina.

I hope that they are able to get some sense in place, but I suspect the juvenile system is not going to wind up making them better people.

Slow moving turtle delays five planes at Japan airport | Japan | The Guardian
Quote:
Turtles on a Runway probably will never rival Snakes on a Plane for dramatic effect, but one reptile has made headlines after an innocent amble along the tarmac at Japan’s second-busiest airport, delaying five planes.
The turtle, which weighs just over 2kg, was seen moving slowly along the tarmac at Narita international airport near Tokyo on Friday morning, prompting a pilot preparing for takeoff to contact air traffic control.
Staff removed the animal with a net and checked the 4,000-metre runway for other foreign objects, causing a 15-minute delay to five flights, according to the Mainichi Shimbun.

What thread do rich man babies go in?
Easily triggered man baby Elon Musk moves Tesla headquarters to Texas because a california legislator tweeted “F—K Elon Musk” also because California wouldn’t let him infect plant workers with covid.
Tesla move came after Calif. legislator tweeted 'f-k Elon Musk: SFGate'
Any article about Tesla and Musk should include the fact that he didn’t invent anything, he was an early investor in Tesla and sued to be allowed to call himself creator. Additionally the entire reason SpaceX is doing well is thanks to their COO Gwynne Shotwell. If she were to ever leave and Musk were to take over, SpaceX would collapse.
Musk is a fake and he knows it.

This has pretty much voided my desire to purchase a Tesla now.
If he wanted to move his production to a non-union state that would let him make up his own COVID protocols, he could have picked a state that's being less transparent about their fascism and less terrible about abortion.
Like Alabama or something.

To get SpaceX to collapse, get Musk on a TV interview and ask nothing but questions about Shotwell’s work. She’ll be working for Branson in no time.

Re: News Miscellany
From what I understand she’s been there since the beginning and is an actual space systems engineer so Musk listens to her. She’s also a bit media averse and thus is quite fine with Musk being the media head. Which is essentially his role at SpaceX to provide the money and fanboi over the progress by those with actual engineering and space experience/degrees. That Musk takes responsibility for the successes *and* failures seems to have taken some weight off of her back to actually make things like two rocket boosters landing side by side happen.
Basically Shotwell and a few other higher ups who are also rocket engineers are the reason for the difference in safety and risk managment between Musk’s Tesla and SpaceX.

I’m not a car person but from what I’ve heard they’re amazing for their cutting edge electric car tech but mediocre as actual cars with their build quality lacking (seams not lining up, and general quality control issues that result in a ‘send it back to the factory and we’ll send you a new one, hopefully it works.’ style of quality control).

3 posts above.
For a slightly stretched definition of "talked about".
To boldly go where no 90-year-old has gone before. Yup, he's the oldest person to go to space.
