Re: More marriage for teh ghey
Because they're gay. Hardly the proper moral example we want our childrens to emulate! I mean GAY, helloo? Gays are only good for being the fabulous punchline(s) in romantic comedies, amirite! They're not real people! They choose to put their sexual parts in other people's not sexual parts for sex! IT'S HORRIBLE!

I just realized that the latest update was from Iceland. The fools! Why did they not heed the very specific divine warning they were given in easy to read volcano form?

1 U.S.C. § 7.
In one lawsuit, a federal judge in Massachusetts held today that the quoted provision violated the equal protection rights of seven same-sex married couples and three surviving spouses from same-sex marriages because "they have been denied certain federal marriage-based benefits that are available to similarly-situated heterosexual couples[.]" Gill v. In a separate lawsuit, the same judge ruled that the DOMA definition of marriage violated the Tenth Amendment -- the wingnut's best friend -- "by intruding on areas of exclusive state authority" and the Spending Clause "by forcing the Commonwealth [of Massachusetts] to engage in invidious discrimination against its own citizens in order to receive and retain federal funds in connection with two joint federal-state programs." The wild-eyed young punk hippie activist judge who issued the rulings is a Nixon appointee who got his J.D. degree two years before I was born.

Re: More marriage for teh ghey
Yes. Quite a day for states' rights. I can't wait to see FOX News cover this.
As of 1030pm, they haven't mentioned it.....except in a one-line statement at the bottom of their front page, along with the other mundane events of the day.
But they have decided that "Coverage Slim on NASA, Black Panthers" deserves not only a medium-sized byline, but a photo as well.
Fair and Balanced. (TM)

Also, playing D & D.
Unless your a lesbian, than gay sex may be knitting. Although I know some knitters who swing both ways.
I'm interested to see how this States rights discussion is debated in the courts.

Objection! D&D = no sex at all, so I don't see how D&D = gay sex can also be true.

While many conservative organizations immediately decried a federal judge's decision last week to invalidate the federal ban on recognizing gay marriages, tea party groups have been conspicuously silent on the issue.
The silence is by design, activists with the loosely affiliated movement said, because it is held together by an exclusive focus on fiscal matters and its avoidance of divisive social issues such as abortion and gay marriage. Privately, though, many said they back the decision because it emphasizes the legal philosophy of states' rights.

Re: More marriage for teh ghey
Argentina, that notorious bastion of left-wing progressivism, now also permits same-sex couples to enjoy the same civil partnership status as heterosexual couples.

Ghey marriage passed Luxembourg parliament last week, as well. Pushed through by the ultra left-wing Christian Democrats, no less.

Re: More marriage for teh ghey
It's a little embarrassing to look at the map on Wikipedia of same-sex marriage laws, and see Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Mexico City and South Africa ahead of the large majority of the US on this issue.
But it's especially embarrassing that Canada has it and we don't. Fucking Canada.

Did it?
I searched on Google, and it didn't say anything about it passing the Parliament yet, but about it being introduced in Parliament.
But I can see how the little goings on in your country would escape the notice of most people. Maybe you passed it and nobody noticed. I mean, there can't be more than one or two gay people in Luxembourg anyway, so it's really more of a symbolic gesture.
