On a more minor, but irritating note. I go to open the windows because it's finally cooler outside than it is inside our house and our fucking stuttering bastard of a neighbor has decided to again light an outside fire in his pit. So now it's either swelter inside our house all night or fill the place with his smoke.

Goddamnit I've been here what, 7 months? 8? I can't fucking find a basic job. I've handed in well over 100 resumes as well as applying online through a job finder website.
This wouldn't be so bad if my partner could find an accounting job, but he was recently told by a head-hunter that it's a real down time for that sort of job.
So there are many weeks when we're very unstable financially. Thankfully my parents are depositing money in my US account fairly regularly, but goddamnit I want to feel useful and I want to stop freaking out about taxes and water bills.

Oh! I forgot to add:
An immigration agent (who works with low-income families) told us last month that the state passed a law to allow couples to register as de facto, which would bypass the need for me to live with him 12 months exactly (which just so happens to be when my visa expires - thanks, Australia!). I do a quick Google when we get home, it turns out the ACT, SA, and VIC have similar laws.
So yesterday we get our bad selves down to the nearby funeral home to have our forms signed by a JP (notary public). In the rain. We are pedestrians. The guy was called away for a funeral. Great. So his colleague points us to the police station. Which is about a 10 minutes' walk back towards our flat. They point us to the courthouse next door. Yay, it gets done!
We're off to the Births, Deaths, & Marriages Dept, which involves a train ride and wandering around, again in the rain. I worry that my umbrella's top is going to blow off. We get registered, but the nice Canadian (!) lady told us that she wasn't sure about what the agent told us, and hey, immigration is right across the street.
We go in and are shuffled around a bit. Then we talk to the kid behind the counter (if he was older than me, I will eat my ipod that is sitting in front of me) who says that it's a brand new law, it's still being debated what it will do, so don't put all your expectations on this.

Fuck you, graphics card. Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, FUCK YOU. And a double fuck-you to ATI for not supporting the fucking thing anymore, which meant I had to scour the whole Internet to find out how to update the driver, only to have it bluescreen on me anyway.
Fuck the whole fucking rig. I ordered a new one last night. It'll take 2 weeks to get, too. God fucking dammit.

You could have borrowed some from the assholes across the road, they seemed to have plenty of explosives they were setting off both of the last two weekends. Your bucket truck broke down and you don't want to spend $300 a day to rent one? Not my problem.
