Fucking home Dell piece of fucking shit. What the fuck is wrong with you? The error message says that a "display driver" stopped working, but gives some weird-assed name for it that doesn't match anything in my device list. I tried updating the video card driver, but that didn't fix it. So what the fuck is wrong with you? Now I have to figure out if it really is a driver, or some fucked-up Vista problem, or some conspiracy of fuckedupedness between Dell and Vista. I didn't have time this morning to write anything down, so I can't do any research from work today.

Oh, and just in case it's because the latest power outage fried something: Fuck YOU, freak windstorm, and an extra-special Fuck You with a generous ration of Eat Shit to Center Point Energy for your notoriously frequent power outages and surges. Assholes.

ok the day has started out fucking great. I have a fucking water pipe that has busted this morning in the middle of my fucking shower, so now I cant do my fucking hair and its going to be a big giant poof ball on my head. I have no Idea were I am going to get the fucking $$ to spend to fix this fucking pipe so I am going to put this song here today because its perfect for today.

Well, thanks to Zehava in chatzes yesterday, I was able to fix the display driver issue. ATI managed to make it annoying by requiring me to download and run this catch-all "legacy drivers" program. I had to run it twice before it worked (the first time it said I didn't have admin rights, which is bullshit -- the second time it still said "failed" but the detail log showed successful installation for everything), AND I still get an error message at startup, but I just click off the error message and the driver seems to work fine.

So now my van is fucked up. The battery isn't holding a charge overnight. At least my wife is working now, so I can afford to fix that. Unfortunately, it also needs brake work so I'll probably have to get that shit addressed at the same time. Which means I will be carless on my day off tomorrow. Unless Zehava can fix my car in chat this afternoon.

Fuckety fuck fuck.

1. The LM had a rough night at work and is all sore and tired, so he asked me to make him this little packaged noodle thing, so I did; and OMG IT SMELLS LIKE SWEATY WHITE PEOPLE! I normally associate white people smell with chicken, but this thing doesn't have any chicken flavoring, so I don't know what it is. But the whole fucking house smells like a mosh pit or something now.

2. I am fucking through with Ubuntu. I stuck with it for a long time just because it's so widely adopted so there's a bigger support base, but I never really use that anyway; and I am THROUGH with this bloaty bullshit and all this Windows style garbage, plus I upgraded to 10.04 last night, and now my cursors are huge monstrous cartoony things, and the only way to fix them system-wide is to turn off my desktop effects. My system can handle the bloat, so that doesn't affect me except psychologically, but these giant stupid cursors are giving me brain damage.

Have you tried sitting farther away from the screen? That would make the cursor look smaller.

Why don't you take the phallic substitutes you call "nightsticks" and jam them up your fucking asses sideways? First off, a goddamn sobriety checkpoint is an assault on the fourth amendment, secondly it's demonstrably ineffective, and thirdly it's a waste of everyone's time.

If you HAVE to have about twenty members of the popo around a single checkpoint, then HOW ABOUT AT LEAST MAKING EACH LANE a checkpoint, instead of funneling everyone from three lanes of a state highway into one, just so that most of you motherfuckers can lounge around by your parked cars swilling coffee and gorging on doughnuts? Thanks to your interference, traffic was such a tangle that it took me ten goddamn minutes to cross a single intersection and thirty to get through the goddamn checkpoint. By which point I was late for what I was going to go see, meaning that out of a season of three operas, for which I paid $65, I only got to see ONE. Thank you so fucking much for that. I can't tell you how overjoyed it makes me to save my dimes so that I can support an organization like the Long Beach Opera and then be prevented from seeing their work. After all, who needs operas when we've got reruns of COPS, right?!

Ha ha, that's awesome. I can only imagine the awesome urban legends and shit those kids are going to learn in their homeschooling!

It's not exactly the same thing, but it reminds me of not long ago, Colorado had proposed a law establishing passing lanes on the highways; and there was a ridiculous number of letters to the editor arguing that that should be the law because it is illegal to drive in those lanes unless you're passing. No shit.
