Twice, on NPR, I've heard them pronounce his name Mur-thuh. I thought he pronounced it Mur-tah (kind of like Bret Favre, there are no rules for name pronunciation). What up with that?

I have to say, I didn't see that one coming.

Disagreed with him on a number of his policies (Some quite strongly), but never thought he did anything but his honest best.

To die from complications of gall bladder surgery, that seems pretty rare.
Age does take it's toll though.
