Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
WOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I've just entered Mr. Jingles into the Costume Contest. Tough choice, but I'm just glad I put him on the Virtue server this past weekend.
Thanks for the info, BrotherMan.
BTW: Do you have any pics of Miss Danger? I mean that, in a totally non-salacious way. I just can't remember what she looks like and your VirtueVerse shot is an ECU.

Well, the game crashes the video card on my laptop, and the desktop completely sucks in terms of sustaining a wireless connection (it's really bad for CoH/CoV; I have to /sync every 10 seconds and still rubberband everywhere), so the future is somewhat murky.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
I'll have to dig around at home. I don't have anything already online other than the VV.
Uthiepoo: I can only recomend poking around on the Tech Issues section of the official forum. As fun as this game is it can always use more faboo.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
I tried searching the forums and have even posted this question there, but I figure our resident CoX guru might be able to answer this quickly.
Are the costume pieces in the Wedding Pack color-tintable? I've seen evidence that leads me to believe that the tuxedos are, but I'm not sure about the wedding dresses.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
Yes. All of the pieces from the wedding pack (and the cyborg booster pack) are color tintable.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
I went through the tech forums and support FAQs, etc. Everything boiled down to a crappy wireless capability for the desktop (the laptop appears to be an SOL issue). I just ordered a new card that gets stronger personal reviews from other people running Vista x64, so we'll see (knock on wood).

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
Preview: Soon to be available "Valkyrie" costume set. First available to those who purchase a Mac compatible client and later to all the rest of the schmoez.
It's a little old, news-wise, but totally relevant. Honest.
Here's the NCSoft news release.
Here's the sign up for beta access. (Currently still in closed beta.)

And I just got through explaining to the Significant Other how the Wedding Pack will be the last thing I will ever purchase for the game!

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
What does that mean? A whole bunch more stuff to do, that's what!
In regular city zones you can:
But the real fun of Winter Times in Paragon is the Ski Chalet located in Pocket D.
There are many shiny costumes and badges associated with this time of year - some available for purchase via the Candy Canes, others through sheer monotonous use of time; rescuing Baby Time at least five times to gain all rewards and the Snaptooth badge. And Eris preserve should you feel some strange compulsion to do this with every character you have.
*New for 2008!
(Some links may not direct correctly, but everything is on the page.)

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
The Zodiac Guardsmen, both Loyal and Fallen, will set aside their differences and take part in the Winter Event.
Ti Gou, leader of the Loyal Guardsmen, said "In honor of the season and to aid noble Father Time, we shall meet all challenges and overcome them this Winter Season."
Tian Shang Lung, leader of the Fallen Guardsmen, added: "The slopes will be littered with the remains of my vanquished opponents. The crisp snow will be stained with the blood of mine enemies, this will be a testament to the colors of my luxurious hoard of candy canes!"
After creating 5 dozen characters, I think I'm ready to start playing the game again.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
The good news is that there is hot hero and villain cross faction action going on. Missions in the Pocket D are co-operative, heroes and villains can work together to complete objectives.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
After I went to bed last night, I realized that there must be more to the Save Baby New Year's mission, as the one I had just completed (thanks in very LARGE part to Metajoule) was just too damned short.
Oh, I also learned that the Celestial Dragon cannot ski to save her life.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
Nope. That's pretty much it. You rescue the mini-matt damon as many times as you want depending on how greedy you are for the rewards offered.
Don't forget the collecting of presents and melting of the winter hordes!`

Pressies! I've got to look up the Paragon Wiki and see which zones I should be in to satisfy my greed!

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
Oh and I don't think I'll give Ti Gou a holiday-colored costume, he already resembles Saint Nick a bit too much.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
Do the Chinese have a solstice celebration analog? I'm all about cultural sensitivity.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
I'm a bad Chinaman, I had to Wiki: Dongzhi Festival. The celebration revolves around food (big surprise for the Chinese), specifically sweet rice dumplings.
I've had those dumplings before, just never knew that there was a cultural significance to it.
Hmmmm, I'm not sure about making Ti Gou resemble a brightly colored dumpling.

Re: Neither WAR nor WoW
Oh I just realized that the Celestial Dragon wasn't skiing, she was luging.
She still sucks at it, though.
