How do you get the blood stains out of your cloth pads?

Cloth pads are a million times nicer than disposable ones...Just cause the crazy women use them doesn't make them wrong.

Just to be clear, I don't think they're wrong, but they are not for me. I don't do pads to begin with. Not only do I not eat what comes out of my body, but I'm not about to sit in it either. But if I did do pads, I would not be doing cloth pads that I would then have to wash out. Good gawd, no.

and I was thinking, wow Crumb uses cloth pads
Julie, you don't use the family cloth instead of toilet paper, right?

I love how they are all crunchy to the point of eating placentas and breastfeeding until eleventy-five or whatever.
But, they still enforce color-coded gender stereotypes on their baby smileys.

They also idolize Caroline Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie with WWCID?
They romanticize living in a one room house with a sleeping loft and shitting piles of sawdust in the corner.

Re: WTF smilies you see at other forums
Ummm well gee if ya want the details...
The first ummm 45 min or so of my periods are "heavy" (for me) and then after that it's just kinda spotty for a few days...
So really only one "icky" pad to rinse out (with cold water in the sink)
Really after doing cloth diapers for so many years it is nothing.
That whole "family cloth" thing is WAY to crunchy for me

Okay, since you are semi crunchy I am going to ask....
Do you still have milk? Some of those women have not had milk for quite sometime and they are letting their 8 year old sons suck on their milkless tits.

Re: WTF smilies you see at other forums
I actually have used cloth pads for years. I have very light periods. I just throw them in with my regular clothes, never had any problem with stains. Not that you really wanted to know.
I am very cheap. I've spent 20 bucks on pads total since 1994.
Nice sig Julie! I sometimes post at Mothering.com, but I don't have much of a sig. They are frequently insane, but they also have local groups (tribes )and a nice premie section. Nothing says "wake up to reality" like having a premie.
They do have insane smilies though, there are lots of religious weirdos there too, so that explains much of the gender coding in my mind.
The smilie that looks like a cancer survivor is a traditional Jewish head scarf (tichel?)

Re: WTF smilies you see at other forums
Oh yes, the tribes!!
Julie I just realized I read your post wrong and you are not still nursing, so forget the milk question.
My favourite sections are Gentle Disciple, The Family Bed and Parenting the Gifted Child. The other day a mom was posting she was sure her toddler was gifted because she could get her own spoon and pile up the sofa cushions... all at 2 1/2 years old. Wow!

LOL but I can still answer your question...
but then that would just be creepy and weird...
Hummm Mothing has a great section for Moms of special needs kids...If it wasn't for the Mama drama I might consider going back there...

Re: WTF smilies you see at other forums
I'm okay with nursing up to 3 or 4, but once they are in school and you are nursing through the gate
of course not a lot of these kids go to school.
I also like the Off the Grid section, those people are out there.
There is a lot of good info and normal people too, but I just read for the shock value of the nut jobs. Like having sex with their kids in the bed with one latched on nursing and hubby from behind. Awwww... baby's first threesome

Re: WTF smilies you see at other forums
Well, when my uterus first starts stripping down, it's very heavy.. up to 1 super sized tampon an hour. I'm not sitting in that and I'm sure as hell not washing those out.

Re: WTF smilies you see at other forums
I don't understand why some people do not have their children vaccinated. Could someone please explain why not?
As far as breast feeding goes, I've never had kids, but I don't think I'd breast feed if I did, but that's me.

Pads of any kind, let alone washing that out =
Tampon = Not sitting in it and when it's used, it gets flushed. No fuss, no muss.

Re: WTF smilies you see at other forums
Re: Vaccinations
For some of them it's religious reasons, but for most it's they don't want their kids shot up with man made chemicals.
Sometimes the State tries to make them comply and then they claim it's religious reasons and cannot be discriminated against. They basically lie.
There is a whole forum dedicated to this topic, you should check it out
