I’m safe and secure, pretty well off while looking all cis gendered and heteronormative in the most powerful and one of the most leftist states in the US, so my privilege protects me from suffering, but a whole lot of Americans who didn’t choose this are going to suffer.

Maybe America deserves to suffer, but it’s not at all clear to me that the Americans most likely to suffer are the ones who deserve to suffer

We have five broad groups of people impacted by this election:
1) Those who voted for Kamala
2) Those who voted for Trump
3) Those who voted for a third party, knowing how dangerous Trump was
4) Those who could vote but chose not to
5) Those who couldn't vote.

All five groups are about to get fucked. I hope groups 2, 3 and 4 get fucked the most. Sorry, not sorry.

I’m willing to chalk this resentment and anger up to grief and shock , for now. But if this sort of bitter angst persists amongst those who didn’t get what they voted for it’s pretty self evident where the division and strife in this country come from, if even a fraction of those feel this way.

The Trumpers I have encountered since the election have had a common refrain of "I'm sorry you're so upset about a mere election."

No, cupcake, this isn't about a mere election, and it never was. It's about handing the reins of power back to a sociopathic narcissist with a number of grudges, felony convictions, further crimes to escape conviction from, and treasonous compacts with both local and foreign enemies of the state he's supposed to serve. He's so toxic that his entire inner circle, the most loyal sycophants, couldn't work for him.

This isn't just an unwelcome outcome. This is an inexcusable outcome, and the fact that you still think it's about Us vs. Them just demonstrates how extraordinarily stupid you are.
