Seems like the "lone disturbed individual" is what the FBI is settling on. I assume this is what most people thought, but the evidence is making that opinion seem more likely. It also appears to be apolitical, in the sense that it wasn't a partisan attack on a candidate, that the shooter took this as "target of opportunity."

Please link the video. I'll bet it says nothing like you're suggesting.

2016 was a legitimate election, as in the people who voted were counted and when the vote was counted in each state, Trump had more electoral votes than Clinton. That's not to say there weren't shenanigans through the election season, but Clinton or Obama didn't attempt to disrupt the electoral process like Trump did on Jan 6th.

The 2020 election was also legitimate as in the people who voted were counted, and when the vote was counted in each state, Trump lost the electoral vote to Biden. That's not to say there weren't shenanigans through the election season, but Trump attempted to disrupt the electoral process on Jan 6th to give himself more time to install fake electors.

it is probably true that the 2016 election results were skewed by people being suckered by propaganda, but the actual election and voting process was legit, as it also was in 2020. the only illegitimate thing was the attempted coup.

I also stand corrected, Democrats are just as willing as Republicans to paint their opponent in office as illegitimate. This shouldn't surprise you, because the opposing party has done for every President in my memory.

There are some differences:
1. There were actual Russian disinformation campaigns.
2. The Democrats didn't riot in the Capitol to try to overthrow the election.
3. Trump said of the 2016 election: "I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally," — without any proof.

So, Trump won, but even if he won, he still felt the need to claim he won even better. He wasn't exactly expressing the confidence of a legitimate winner.
