I can't crack #857. Can it be done without advanced tricks and I just haven't seen it yet? Or do I need to just start guessing?

Gave it another 5 mins, was still stuck so guessed... wrong. And then still couldn't get anywhere so I guessed again... wrong. Then I was able to cruise through it.

Tough one!

I tried early this morning, spent ages stuck, then gave up without making any guesses, and without getting anything wrong

So I tried again just now, determined to guess from the outset. I made about three lucky correct guesses early on - and from then on it was straightforward.

Based on the comments, I used pencil marks and no brain
But no guessing required, it came out smoothly
