A friend of a coworker got a tornado warning in TX.

Our 20% eclipse here looks like a complete bust. We're about 2 minutes away from max coverage and we still have thick cloud cover.

It's oddly warm and clear here so I used walking to the store to get a tomato plant as an excuse to get outside. The quality of light was nicely odd and I'm told if I'm lucky my "tomato" will grow up to consume all of humanity, we can only hope.

I also saw two people wearing Twilight: Eclipse shirts.

The weather appears to be broken in Europe. Athens turns orange, Helsinki goes white

Our snow part of that reporting would normally not have been such a problem, but we were fully into spring mode and most of us had summer tyres and the snow ploughs were not on call any more. Thankfully, a lot of people are now able to stay home when this happens.
Our area definitely got more than the reported Helsinki amount of 20 cm from Monday evening to Tuesday, closer to 30 cm, but that amount was localised to the area near the coast and west of Helsinki.

Audrey II seems to be doing well enough given I've brought this sun loving plant into the grey fog. Lots of flowers, no tomatoes yet, which is fine I bought it mostly for the leaves. Do I need to feed it blood?

Everywhere else is having a heatwave which means I turned the heater on for a few minutes this morning to warm the place up.

It's been way too fuckin' hot here in the East Bay. It looks to be about 3 more days before we've sucked off enough of your marine layer to cool us the hell off.

It's supposed to be 106 F / 41 C today. Yesterday was witheringly hot, but today it'll be even worse. If the power goes out, we're fucked.

I know, this is de rigueur for a lot of the country. But it's fucking outrageous here. There ain't gonna be no marine layer cooling, at least for another week.

I had plans to go on a hike on July 4, and we were going to step off at the crack of dawn specifically to beat the heat, but it's so fucking hot they closed the whole fucking mountain, so we had to cancel.

Well, the Weather Service radars seem to be offline, and weather forecast is "Slight chance of Rain"
Nothing shows on the Radar maps, but I am looking out my window at a very large and dark cloud coming directly over us from the West, trees are beginning to bend over, and all the birds seem to have taken cover.
