Then, surely, you have contemplated the subtle difference between "It's too cold to snow." and "it snows more when it's warmer." and why either of them may actually have the potential to have been true at one time or another, without being a permanent condition.

there are a lot of things which are useful patterns to be aware of without being full-generality physical laws.

I have spent way too much time and effort on all of that. Like, hours maybe.

There is a subtle but real difference between

"It snows more because it's warmer"

and

"It snows more when it is warmer"

The full details might justify hours, but being able to understand the basic concept should not take hours. I think it took minutes for my mom to explain "too cold to snow" when I was a kid.

I was joking.

However, your point seems obvious. Except when it comes to scientific/physical reality, that involves woke beliefs, or politics, or some religious cult, or global warmers, there is this odd reality where no matter how much time is involved, some people can't ever grasp basic concepts.

And of course there is the facetious question itself, where it's possible the person asking isn't actually honest, nor do they want a discussion to move forward. One can usually tell who is serious, or honest, by how many sources they use, and the clear language involved.

And also they mention their mom.
