Weird Dream(s)

In this dream I was trying to organize rooms in a new house and was then informed we had to leave to go to some dinner event. Which I was quite annoyed by because I was only just being told of this dinner, but it was for the local royal family so we had to go.

At the shindig all the women had mustaches, groomed and sometimes dyed to match their dresses/outfits, as was the style at the time.

Also one of the rooms had a very loud high pitched (like an old CRT whine) sound that was both very directional and coming from multiple places that I couldn’t find, it was downright painful.

Speaking of Royal family... last night I was Queen Elizabeth's grand daughter and at a fancy event she took me aside and told me she had a cut on her hand and wanted me to apply Opium cream to it.

I was concerned about dosage, she told me not to worry. There were these solid gold Q-tips with puffy fur balls on the end.

In this dream I was playing a side scrolling beat em up video game (Similar to double dragon/streets of rage) with a team of two others in a video game championship like thing.

I haven’t played one of those games in years (decades?) and have barely seen footage of them being played in the last few years. Yet here we are, completely different full graphics unrelated to any I’ve seen before, and what felt like internally consistent controls. The jump, punch and kick buttons all jumped, punched or kicked, and combos were consistent, my chosen character would breath fire if I rocked from the b button to the a button and then back again. Even if I did so while facing a wall, setting myself on fire in the process.

Where the fuck did all of that come from? I certainly haven’t played a video game that used a controller in over a year.

Things like this are why I think we will eventually reach a sort of ‘plug into the matrix’ style VR world eventually. If my brain can build a world, sit me in it, then put a controller in my hand to legit have a gaming session of a game with fully drawn and animated graphics that I’ve never seen before, with no outside prompting, imagine what could happen if there was something actually giving me signals to guide the process.

So I was wandering down a tree lined side street and wanted to know what was on the next street over so I sent a camera drone to look, kept walking and into a cool little hippie sandwich shop and talked to the owner while they made me a sandwich, I paid and left through the other door where I encountered two huge cats in Crayon bright colours the size of medium dogs who demanded pettings which ai obliged and continued out the door to hop in a ride car to go home but the car diverted into a park and my backpack was missing which had me sad because my teddy bear was in it.

This isn't even mostly the dream, but it does involve it, so it counts.

I was I think a teenager, but not me, and I was hiding in a very small motel room because I wasn't supposed to be there. But I made a noise and someone's mom (???) came in and saw me, and it dawned on me that I was not a teenager but a grownup, and that I was allowed to be there, so I didn't need to hide, and just then, I woke up, still discombobulated like that.

Normally, when I wake up, I do a Power On Self Test before I even open my eyes, where I go over who I am, where I am, who else is here, what day it is, what month, what season, what I have to do today, etc.. But I was so confused I forgot I guess and just woke up all the way and had to figure all that out while fully conscious.

I dreamed I woke up in our new house and all our furniture was moved in. It didn't really look like our house or our furniture (because dream) but I didn't care, because it was all already moved.

My mom was there and bey was there and I was like, "How did this happen? How did all the furniture get here?" and mom was like, "We rented a truck and moved it." And I was so fucking thrilled and relieved.

Then I for real woke up, and before I opened my eyes I knew where I was and what I would see. I was like, "NOOOOOOO. WHYYYYYYYY?" It was all done. Why would that happen just to be taken away?

The whole dream faded quickly at wakening, but the last bit was being followed around by a 1-2m long tardigrade.

Navigating a circus funhouse in a kid's science centre. All the exhibits but no documentation explaining what we were looking at. Weird beep soundtrack. It was called the Aussie Escaper for some reason.

At one point of a night of chaotic imagery I gave myself a jumpscare awake. 2/10 Do not recommend.

We lived in a parking lot, along with a number of other people and anthropomorphic birds.

I was being stalked by a very very large, non-anthropomorphic black vulture. Like 3x the size of a real black vulture.

Some of the parking lot birds were soapmakers. I helped carry their soap to the car, and I dropped some. It's OK, though. I picked it up and it was fine.

A neighbor in the parking lot was busted doing something bad by a cop who also lived in the parking lot, and his punishment is that he had to sing At Your Best (You are Love) to his victim.

I restarted at a retail job I haven’t been at in 20 years and it was fine for awhile until some addled dude wanted to buy smokes of a variety I couldn’t find so I checked in back and when I came back out front all the other staff had abandoned and there were about ten people in the store and I couldn’t find the boss’ (RIP) number. It was chaos and I did not like it.

Revisited a place in a dream.

My sister ditched me with my wallet and phone in her car so I started walking and came across a place I'd been in a dream before. It was a series of walking paths with slogans and quote signs here and there but it was overgrown since last time, and in a state of disrepair.

I had a stupid one last night where a realtor came to my door and told me she was selling/renting all the other houses near me to college bros, and that the house next door was a "testosterone bomb waiting to go off" and make life miserable for an Edwardian like me, so I may as well just sell her my house now.

I woke up thinking about how stupid she was and puzzling over the Edwardian burn, and it only slowly dawned on me that the stupidity was mine and mine alone because she doesn't exist. I made all that up myself.

(I AM getting harassed by flippers and speculators all the time, and the house next door where the lady died is going up for sale soon, so I at least know why that was on my mind, but the rest doesn't make sense.)

Weird dream 1. I was in a pantry or cellar of some kind, with red and white patterned wallpaper - very yellowed and faded. I was looking up at a shelf, but this shelf was sticking out from the wall, not running along it. A very chunky bit of rough wood like a small railway sleeper, with staples and stuff in it. On top of it, half over the edge , were various jars with brown pickling liquid in and possibly some spices (almost vertically above me so I couldn't see well). Somehow Lisarea was responsible but that might have come to me after I woke up.

Weird dream 2.
I was in an accountancy firm office trying to negotiate how to transfer some money from my private company to my friend's private company. We weren't given the accountants all the information which I think is pretty normal.

When we left I had to find the station to get the train home, and I got directions down the hill. The city could have been Johannesburg or London or Helsinki, but I knew I was in the eastern part of the city and my home neighbourhood was to the northwest - and I knew I was facing about north-north-west. Oddly precise sense of direction despite not being in any particular place.

I’ve had a number of coffee and cooking videos on in the background recently.

I took a short nap, during that nap I was working a home counter top Steakspresso machine. Just because I don’t drink ground coffee or eat steak doesn’t mean I can’t invent the latest craze since my previous hit Bacon-Bacon! The raw steak goes in a bit like a top loading toaster before being clamped down on by searing hot plates, which brown the meat before pressurized water is forced down the sides into an espresso bucket filled with coffee. What could go wrong!

Really all that’s left is to give it an open wifi connection and build a poorly organized and never maintained phone app.

Zelzly, my baby pet elephant, had returned from the hunt* overexcited. He kept climbing up on the furniture and falling to the floor. He was much smaller than a real baby elephant - about the size of a guinea pig - so was bouncing off things unharmed, but I was worried that he might fall against some sharp object and hurt himself.

*The dream didn't specify why Zelzly had gone on the hunt, nor what was being hunted.

Zelzly is a very good name for a baby elephant. Indeed for any miniature lap pet.
