Schizophrenic weather. Yesterday, 60ºF, today, 27ºF. New Year's Eve is supposed to be 54ºF. Still better than freezing rain.

Dark for now, followed by increasing light in the morning, peaking around noon, then gradually more dark later this afternoon and evening. There will be fluctuating temperatures and humidity throughout the day. Tomorrow, there is nearly 100% chance of light starting in the early morning hours.

Maximum annoyance is right after it rained when roads are really shiny.

Where I work: 71 degrees, right now (but feels like 66), and fair.

Where I live: 66 degrees (but feels like 59), and clear. High today forecast to be 72. The same high is forecast for tomorrow, as well.

At first I got onto youtube and found a fireplace with music, then I thought "This is silly" so I brought in some wood and built a real fire in our fireplace and changed to some nice background music. Happy new year everyone.

Meanwhile in Flint, we set a record cold temperature for the day. Of course, now I can't find the article with the temp, but I think it was -11°F.

That's a record there? I know it varies considerably by day. Here in Tulsa, the all-time record low for yesterday's date was +2ºF, set in 2001, which was a damned long cold winter here, record-setting for the length of time it was below freezing. However, it's far from the coldest January temperature here, that would be -16ºF in 1909, which also Tulsa official coldest temperature on record. That said, it was -21ºF at my house 10 miles out of downtown Tulsa on Feb. 10, 2011, -31ºF in Nowata, Oklahoma, the state record. The unofficial record for Oklahoma was detected that same morning on the Oklahoma Mesonet system, -47ºF near Medford, Oklahoma. That's only 1 degree warmer than the all-time lowest temperature in Mountain View, Wyoming.

MN Governor closes schools because it's going to be stupid cold on Monday

It's 10º now and by Monday morning it could go as low as -35º in spots. (We're looking at a balmy high of -17º here in the Cities).

it has to be colder than -45 for them issue a windchill warning up here

-30ish tonight, with a -40ish windchill, which is kind of normal. the weird thing is that it was above freezing this morning.
