Superficial? Now that is funny. peacegirl, you are the one presenting Lessans. The superficiality is all yours.

LOL; we are studying the most fundamental aspects of the nature of the Universe with QM, exploring other planets with Rovers, exploring the outer solar system with probes, learning about other galaxies with the Hubble, learning about the microscopic world with increasingly sensitive optical technologies, etc. If that's ignorance, I'll take it over facial recognition in dogs.

I know I have suggested this before, but I am going to try again. Go into a darkened room. Take a mirror and flashlight with you. Position the mirror so that it is facing a blank wall a foot or so distant from the mirror. Shine the flashlight at the mirror. Observe the spot of light that appears on the wall opposite the mirror. Then come back here and tell us that the light which was not absorbed by the mirror did not bounce off the surface of the mirror, travel across the room and strike the wall.
Have you tried this yet, peacegirl? If you have, what were the results?
I am actually not interested in hearing any more results that would prove Lessans wrong, not because I'm in denial, but because the test to prove him wrong, is inaccurate. When you talk about mirrors, do you actually think this proves Lessans wrong when I have said all along that mirrors are only a projection of what already exists? You really should be laughing at yourself Angakuk for spreading your wings in pride when you have nothing to be proud about.
I didn't say anything about trying to prove Lessans wrong. I described a simple experiment that you can do at home. The purpose of the experiment is to see whether or not non-absorbed light is reflected by an object. The object, in this instance, being a mirror.

Did you do the experiment? If you did, what were the results and how do you explain those results? If you didn't try it, why didn't you?
I don't have to do an experiment because I know what it will show. If an object is in the room when I look in a mirror the non-absorbed light will be reflected, but I will see the image in the mirror in real time. Just because light reflects off of a mirror doesn't negate the efferent model. Again, you're failing to see that what we are viewing in the mirror is a "mirror image" of the actual object that is in the room. Do you think the light would bring us the image if the object was no longer in the room? That's what science is actually stating when they say an event doesn't have to be present for the light to bring us the image, as if to say that light alone is the cause, not a condition, of sight.
The experiment has absolutely nothing to do with the presence of any other object in the room or looking in the mirror at all. Reread the description of the experiment, go and conduct it yourself, then come back and tell us what happened.

Report: Peacegirl Posts Exhibit 'Quantum Wave-Particle Stupidity'

FREETHOUGHT-FORUM.COM (Internet News Service) -- Mad scientists at Bell Laboratories confirmed Tuesday that an Internet message board user's posts exhibit "unprecedented and heretofore unsuspected wave-particle stupidity."

The dual nature of the posts by peacegirl, a participant at Freethought-Forum, was discovered by passing her posts through a classic two-slit detector.

"Even when we fired each post through the detector one at a time with both slits open, eventually the posts built up a waveform of stupidity on the detector on the other side, suggesting that prior to a measurement, the posts are in a superposition of stupidity, being stupid every possible way it is to be stupid," said the lead mad scientist for the study, Dr. Jules Poindexter.

Poindexter went on: "When the post strikes the screen, it creates a single, really stupid point, but over time the wave nature of the stupid manifests itself."

In nature, photons, electrons and even some macroscopic objects have been passed through the two-slit detector, and they always exhibit wave-particle duality. Previously it was not thought that message board posts could exhibit a similar wave-particle stupidity.

The experiment also confirmed that while the degree of stupidity of each post is inherently indeterministic, one can square the amplitude of the wave function and derive a high probability of how stupid each post will be.
This is exactly why our world is in the state it's in. It's being run by mad scientists!!!:eek::eek:

The problem is that every single experiment and observation conclusively demonstrates that we don't.
Really? I hope so because that's how we see. Spacemonkey is wrong in his analysis, pure and simple.
She has now explicitly stated that no matter what any test or experiment shows, and regardless of the fact that every single one of them show Lessans to be wrong, Lessans is right anyway. And, with that, why would anyone continue on with this? Every time you describe another experiment that conclusively disproves Lessans, and everytime you lead her through the chain of her own reasoning that ends in self-contradiction or gibberish, she will simply go into reset mode, and pronounce Lessans to be right.
Where have you been davidm? She's been ignoring contradictory evidence since post 1 thread 1. One of the amazing aspects of this thread is the number of posters who just can't get over it. The only real topic of this thread is peacegirls mental illness.

I know that non-absorbed light will be at the wall Angakuk, but this has nothing to do with EFFERENT VISION. No one seems to grasp the significance of this model in changing what it is we are looking at and why light alone cannot bring an image to us when there is no object in one's field of view.

LOL, not at all. I have read several studies of it in fact and it's quite fascinating.

However, I don't think it's more important than all the Displays of Ignorance listed.

Report: Angakuk Joins Stupidity Bandwagon

FREETHOUGHT-FORUM.COM (Internet News Service) -- Angakuk has joined the stupidity bandwagon, it was confirmed Tuesday.

"It's true," the message-board poster at Freethought-Forum.com said in an e-mail interview. "I'm all on board with the stupid. I'm in it to win it with my cronies."

Angakuk, who in addition to posting messages at the Freethought-Forum message board is also a NeoTillichian Hierophant & Partisan Hack, said that he is now "playing the Boob Tuba" on the Stupidity Bandwagon.

"Oom-pah-pah, oom-pah-pah," Agnaugk said.

Another poster at the board, peacegirl, expressed disappointment at Angauk's decision to hop on board the Wagon of Witlessness.

"You were one of the few that I thought had a few brain cells left," peacegirl said. "I guess not. :sadcheer: "

Thanks for the tuba. I always wanted to play one but could never afford the lessons, or the tuba. There are some who say that I don't need to bother with the tuba. They say I have plenty of brass as it is.

Also, in the course of 3 successive sentences you managed to spell my name three different ways, only one of which was correct. That is pretty impressive.

I know that non-absorbed light will be at the wall Angakuk, but this has nothing to do with EFFERENT VISION.
But it does have a great deal to do with whether or not non-absorbed light is reflected by the object.

So, did you conduct the experiment? If you did, what were the results?

MESSAGE-BOARD POSTERS IN PERSPECTIVE

I'm not an editor for nothing. :D
You should be.
