Vance was cordial, but I have a bias against monarchists being in my democracy, so that creepy follower of Yarvin is right out.

A woman was part of a violent insurrection that broke into the capital and ignored commands to stop. The officer that shot and killed that insurrection is a fucking hero. I lament that Babbitt was so propaganda addled that she engaged in insurrection.

It should also be noted that at least some of her fellow insurrections were armed.

Incorrect on both. The rioter were in fact disrupting a democratic process for the purpose of getting Trump illegally elected. The riots were intending to disrupt the electoral vote count process so that the Trump campaign could have more time to game the election results. It's also likely that the riot was used as a threat of force against Mike Pence to persuade him to refuse to accept the votes as counted.

Trump attempted illegal methods to affect the outcome of the election, up to and including the Jan 6th riots. This was undemocratic and frankly disqualifies him from serving as President.

The goal was to use force to threaten or kill the people certifying the election results to force them to certify different election results than the actual ones. That is, in fact, intended to overthrow democracy.

This isn't some kind of crazy thing "the media" came up with. There's been plenty of court cases on this, people getting tried and convicted on the evidence presented to a jury of their peers, and ... yeah it really was that.
