I would have loved to have seen Tim Curry on stage in the original RHS, although I have seen it a couple of times in the theatre with other actors and enjoyed it.
But, please let's just keep the filum the cheesy classic that it is.

Oh gods, remade by MTV?
First time I ever got to see RHPS live was at Prince Charles theater in London, the group's name was Charming Underpants. I still have the program from it, albeit a bit wrinkled after having used it as my newspaper during the rain scene. The local group that we go see here are known as Lips Down on Dixie. It's a lot of fun. They need to NOT remake it.

I can imagine it, I also cannot imagine it working.
The Rocky Horror Picture show played in the small, church-going town I went to high school. I got "shushed" for shouting out some of the audience participation lines.

I'm a bit weird in that I love the film in its own right. I've never even seen it in a theatre so my appreciation has nothing to do with the camp festivalia, I just thought it was a fun flick with great tunes. The fact that Riff-Raff has disowned the remake says it all.

Not only does O'Brien play Riff Raff, he also wrote the original musical "The Rocky Horror Show" and is also credited as screenwriter for the movie.

As much as I agree that this is a terrible idea, especially with Richard O'Brien disowning it, I must still admit that if they cast Eddie Izzard as Frank I will be the first in line to see it. And I can't be the only person thinking of that casting.

wow, the thought of this makes me teary eyed.
I wasn't allowed to see the movie until I was 16, but i had the soundtrack for years before that. I can sing all of it from memory.

I have the film on dvd and the soundtrack from the original stage show on cd.
The songs are obviously the same but sung very differently. However, I love them both ways.
Tim Curry made that part his own and I just can't imagine anybody else playing the part.
I also love Eddie Izzard but I can't really see him in the role.
I mean, would you like to see him.........
