My buns are the best!
Of course you could half the salt and sugar - it makes no difference to the taste

Having nothing interesting to say.
Thanks everyone for the feedback, I hope to lower my standards soon!Posted 10-10-2007 at 12:08 PM by slimshady2357 -

Another vote for "lower your expectations", and I'm telling myself as much as you. I've been intending to start blogging since I installed this add-on, but haven't thought of anything "blog worthy" myself.Posted 10-09-2007 at 04:51 AM by viscousmemories -

I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat. Remember that ancient curse: May you live in interesting times? That's me.Posted 10-06-2007 at 08:46 AM by Dingfod -

Your blog is worthwhile just so I can see the shaggy cow! I love that cow! One of my all time favorite books was about a guy that lived alone on a farm with his cow. A simple life, like a single rain drop on a leaf can be more spell binding and lasting in ones mind than just a storm.Posted 10-06-2007 at 12:44 AM by Pinecone -

Definitely lower your expectations. I know I'd love to hear about the lovely things. Not only are they worth a blog entry, they're exactly what blogs are for, imo.
Besides, any dirt you can give us on Sou is always a Good Thing(TM).Posted 10-04-2007 at 03:17 PM by livius drusus -

I vote for "lower your expectations" IMHO blog entries don't have to necessarily contain the most groundbreaking or jaw dropping things. It's amazing what can get a conversation started, even if it's just what you had for dinner.Posted 10-03-2007 at 07:19 PM by curses -

Sounds delish, Slim. I might just land me a breadmaker when I'm employed again.Posted 09-24-2007 at 07:25 PM by viscousmemories -

My buns are the best!
I make the 1/3 white 2/3 brown buns the most. The girls take them on their lunches to school, so I make them at least twice a week. Then we make the pizza dough about once every 2 weeks and lastly we make a loaf of bread about once every two weeks too. So I usually use the bread maker about 3 times a week.
The fresh buns recipe is:
1.25 cups water
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons milk powder
1.25 teaspoons salt
1.25 cups strong white flour
2.5 cups strong brown flour
2 tablespoons melted butter (I admit, I use a little more than that )
1.25 teaspoons yeast
And of course it's the 'bun dough' setting on the bread maker
When it's done I shape them and let them sit (rise) for about 20 minutes. Finally shove them in the oven on about 180C for about 15 mins, but really until they are just starting to brown on top.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm buns, I'm going to make some tomorrow and have a BBQ!Posted 09-09-2007 at 09:34 PM by slimshady2357 -

OOh, good idea about cooking the dough for ten minutes! I've never tried it with brown flour, I'll have to give it a try.
What's the most common kind of dough you make with your breadmaker?Posted 09-07-2007 at 08:03 PM by curses -

Hell ya! The pizza dough is fantastic. I usually make it with about 2/3 brown flour as well, it's lovely. I try to make it when I have a day off.
I'll make the dough, roll it out into the pizza bases and then put it in the over for about 10 mins. I find that if you put it in the over for 10 mins, then put all the toppings on and shove it back into the oven for another 15 mins the dough comes out much nicer. It cooks more thoroughly.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm pizza.Posted 09-07-2007 at 05:10 PM by slimshady2357 -
