Re: Meh....someone say sumthin...
Does anyone understand the logic behind the idea that citizen's untied will not allow foreign money into our elections?
For that matter, can you articulate the counter argument? I think that the decision certainly does allow foreign money in, but I think I am getting that intuitively, without understanding.
No good for you?
Did you see the daily show tonite where both sides were running the same ads about Paul Ryan, but with different emphasis? Heeelarious!

You know what I want?
Melted swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce, thickly sliced red onion, fresh tomatoes on a big kobe hamburger.

Re: Meh....someone say sumthin...
I just served those to some friends. Well, not the Kobe part. But the rest. I also put a cherry/mustard glaze on the burgers. (First time for the glaze. Everyone liked it but me.)
Eta. Oops. Not red onions, either. Grilled shallots. I guess it wasn't that similar at all to what you wanted. Sorry.

Shallots ARE those purpley onion like things, right?

Re: Meh....someone say sumthin...
Yes, I think of them as a cross between onions and garlic. Shallots still make me ill if I eat them raw. But they are tastier than most onions.
Would like for someone to find the gene that makes people able to digest onions without upset. And then put the solution in a pill. Was looking at my vegetarian cookbook yesterday, and many of the recipes call for 1-2 cups of onions.

I am so disgusted I give up. Anger turns to apathy turns to indifference turns back to anger, with no prospect of resolution. I'm waiting for the whole rotten edifice to crash down around our ears, to see what comes next.
Yeah, put me on your list motherfuckers, I belong on it.

Re: Meh....someone say sumthin...
I eat shallots all the time. I replace garlic with them since I can't tolerate garlic. I was told by someone that if it was an actual garlic allergy and not a sensitivity I wouldn't be able to eat shallots either. Don't know if it's true. I usually say allergy in restaurants because they take it more seriously and don't make me sick through sloppiness.

How sad for you, Janet....8(.
I would not like it if having garlic was a bad idea for me.
I would be sad to think of shallots as a garlic substitute. But shallots ARE yummy.

Re: Meh....someone say sumthin...
My cat goes apeshit for chives. If I've just cut some to use in a dish, she ululates until I give her one, then she inhales it at light speed.

Re: Meh....someone say sumthin...
When we first started growing chives we tried them in the window sill but Jeeves would not leave them alone. He would tip over the pot all the time trying to get to them. We had to move them to the window box.

Re: Meh....someone say sumthin...
So you are saying that the cats are like the international corporations and the chives are like politicians with legislative power, and as voters, we need to build a window box to protect our politicians from global corporate "fat cats" who want to get at them?
Or are the voters the chives?

Yumm! That sounds good. Maybe with some Vichyssoise. Or even just warm broth. Prolly great with tomato soup, if you like tomato soup. I don't.

As long as you keep in mind that it is despite your absence, not because of it.
