…according to a know nothing moron on another forum.

I had, some years pervious, admitted, boasted even, on the forum, that I had had anal sex with past female sex partners, and bloody enjoyed it.

Due to me proving this idiot wrong on so many points, he took to following me about the forum, lying about what I had said, and calling me a “pervert" (He also stated that this pleasure indicated I was an "in the closet gay", and "liked little boys", which shows the level of debate he was capable of..)

But this got me to thinking.

Is it possible to be a 'pervert" these days?

Is it possible that enjoying a legal sexual act makes you a "pervert"?

What, in fact, is a "pervert"?

I think most sex acts are widely acceptable (What since the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and then the era of internet pornography) as long as everyone involved is willing. I think "pervert" tends to refers to one who pushes themselves onto another without consent or implies sexuality into otherwise innocent situations.

There are certainly a lot of people who will happily use that word to describe anyone who commits a certain set of acts. The set may vary depending on the cultural background and political outlook of the person defining it, but most people seem to still have a niche in their moral universe that it serves to identify. For myself I would be more inclined to use it not so much to define specific sexual acts (or those who like them) as a way of describing those who actively harm others for their sexual pleasure, or those who consistently or habitually do things they themselves consider wrong. Whether or not a sex act is objectively wrong is one thing, but if someone truly feels it is, then there are definite consequences for doing it anyway. That's the sort of thing that raises the term to mind, at least in my way of thinking about it.
