Roll20-Anyone playing socially-distanced games?
We've been playing a bunch of pen and paper games this way. A few D&D 5e one shots, A steampunk swashbuckling game, and a long running game of Blades in the Dark. Just curious to see what everyone else is playing.

Re: Roll20-Anyone playing socially-distanced games?
One of my coworkers recommended Roll20 and is an avid user.
Our "happy hour" at work has mostly been codename and evades.io, and Minecraft once or twice. We're trying to expand on it as we're not going to be back in the office anytime soon.
My daughter has been co-DMing a D&D game with college friends over Skype or Zoom. I don't think they're using Roll20.

I have been playing on roll 20. One group is playing Mutant Crawl Classics and the other group is playing 5e game set in Eberron.

I've been playing in a couple of Rolemaster campaigns over Discord. No bells and whistles but voice and text chat, a bot for dice and GM streaming digital maps give us everything we need.

I'm really starting to get a feel for JUST how many different pen and paper RPGs there are out there. You and Crumb just gave me two more to investigate!

Re: Roll20-Anyone playing socially-distanced games?
Rolemaster is... probably not for everyone. We play it largely because the GM is very familiar with it. The basic resolution mechanism is pretty straightforward, but from there it explodes out into long lists of skills, half a book of combat tables, most of a book of spells, many books of optional rules, and enough character sheet calculations to make an accountant blush. You do get quite a lot of flexibility for all this, and there are various online tools to streamline various things, but it takes a fair bit of system familiarity for it to run smoothly.
Anyway, next game night is Thursday. In that game we've just barely defeated the first Big Bad, a mad wizard-spy who had been masquerading as our former innkeeper but had developed a form of biological warfare in the form of infected lizards whose bite drove people mad before killing them in agony. He released barrels of the things in the shithole town we were based in. We found some clues that connected this dude to larger stuff going on, which I guess is where the campaign is going...

It is. It is similar to Dungeon Crawl Classics (in case you haven't heard of that) but has a much more interesting setting.

That makes it sound like GURPS having a bad day. Did your character sneeze? Check this table to see how far and in what direction.

Would be appropriate for a 2020 themed game.

I remember flipping through Rolemaster books on the 80s just to read the long lists of lurid critical hit results. I am pretty sure one let you slice your enemy's buttocks off.
