About three years ago, I lent my mother my down sleeping bag.
She then let her cats pee on it and various other insults.
Since then I rescued it and took it home to clean.

She came over to watch my son, decided that it would bother my son's allergies (as it was drying in the garage) took it and donated it to a charity.

So when I called her to ask her where she put it, she starts in on a long list of how she's justified in doing what she did.
So after she finally told me what she did with it (after I spent a morning looking for it), I hung up on her.
Now she's mad at me for hanging up on her.

I don't fucking want her in my house.

In the meantime, we can do the grocery shopping and things like that on a small credit card I have. We can write checks for bills until this mess is all straightened out. So, we're OK. It's just a helluva inconvenience and more than a bit of worry because we have no idea how the card information was stolen.

I just got a call from my credit card's fraud division, some one made a dupe of my card and is running around spending money at Subway (declined) and Wallmart in Illinois.

I had something similar happen to me some years ago. Someone in China tried using my card to order stuff online.

A weird thing happened recently with my husband's Visa (through a local credit union). Some used the card to place an ad for a Lexus in Auto Trader. The kicker was that the car was listed as being in our town and the ad had our phone number. The way we found out was that someone called about buying "our" car. When I called Auto Trader, they just removed the ad and apologized, but did not say anything else beyond that. A month later his cc statement had various charges and refunds from Auto Trader.

We went and had the card canceled, etc., but are still scratching our heads over the whole thing.

Subway might have gotten through, but there is no way they are getting $900 out of my card.

When I talked to someone at the bank earlier this month, she indicated a large bank had a lot of their files compromised. So now someone has gotten that info and the ability to counterfeit cards. Whee.

I called the police to report my credit card numbers stolen and get sent to a mailbox, fine. The phone receptionist was very nice and said someone would return my call promptly.
