My Fitbit also started falling apart. I replaced it with a Garmin Vivosmart HR. It appears to be much more durable.

I borrowed my mother's one, used it for a week, got all the info I need. I wouldn't mind wearing one more if it were a fancier one with a watch also, but for just fitness monitoring I don't feel the need to pay that much.
Yes, Miisa.. mine is like a plain black rubber strap with no interesting features, I have seen much nicer looking ones - but this was a gift and was the basic model.

I had one of the little Fitbit things, and used it for about a year, then I switch to a Microsoft Band, and right now I'm wearing a Pebble. Pebble App is telling my my average for this month is 5,800 steps - less than it should be to maintain weight and health.
Fucking Fitbit bought Pebble for its engineers and tech, so they stopped support of all Pebbles in December, and I was all excited for new line.
Garmin seems to be the new hotness in the fitness wearables industry, with 3 people I know switching from various devices to Garmin.
I think the Fitbit app has been the best out of all the ones I've tried for information collection and ease of use.
