It's the most special time of the year.
Rejoice! For today marks the eve of Kickentide!
In the Netherlands we celebrate this occasion with a great feast, where we eat, drink and are merry at the poor beggars outside, who can only stare through the locked windows at all the food they lack. Ha! Sucks to be them.
After dinner we play games; usually Monopoly ("Welch on a bet. Do not pass Go. Do not lose €200"). Then, when the Invisible Hand has anointed the Most Meritorious, the women retire to the kitchen to practice taekwondo moves while the men read each other the erotic Ayn Rand fanfiction that they have been writing for just this occasion.
I'm curious, does the US have similar traditions? Or do you postpone the celebrations for the day of Kickentide itself?
