Apparently Thinis is no longer the capital of Egypt
Though I admit I was testing the limits of the random question. Also, apparently, Five million is not half of Ten million. Third time's the charm, right?
Sure, let's use the template.
1. How'd you find the Freethought Forum?
Stumbling across a thread about bronies a few years ago that I really enjoyed in a 'yeah, the kids are alright' kind of way. I've lurked periodically ever since. The kicker to get a login here involved a couple things. My usual haunt lost a couple posters I enjoy reading, science based people who know a lot about various regulatory systems. (Say nice things about GMO in the wrong forum and you'll find yourself run out of town on a rail.) So, watching The Lone Ranger hand your Nazi of the Week his ass with all sorts of science, only to see the thread disappear into the bowels of the underworld, I wanna read more of that poster's science. I dunno how much posting I'll do, but shall see. Mebbe I'll have something helpful/useful/amusing to say.
2. Are you a member of any other online forums? Which?
SLUniverse. Avid Second Life resident.
3. How do you feel about smilies (emoticons)?
I prefer lolcats but enjoy a creative smilie.
4. How do you feel about 3500+ smilies?
I'll be hiding under a table.
5. Is flaming:
A. Hilarious - Sometimes, context matters.
B. Beneath you - I wish it was more than it is.
C. Irritating as fuck - Sometimes, again, context.
6. Is vulgar language:
A. Hilarious - Often.
B. Beneath you - Not at all, with a mind to time and place.
C. Irritating as fuck - Irony.
7. Why did the chicken cross the road?
To render the buildings on the other side.
8. Who pays for your food?
Nothing illegal or morally grey area.
9. What's one thing you've always wanted to do but never have?
Immortality.
10. What is your single favorite place in the world?
Within view of snow capped mountains
11. What's the significance of your username?
First name, an old roleplay name. Last name, chosen from a dropdown list of available names for SL at that time. I took the German one because of my brother's story that German names have a tendency to make people think 'oh noes, this one's a hardass'. If I could roll back ten years, I'd pick something different.
12. What about your avatar?
It made me smile.
Other miscellany:
Hangs with steampunks.
Victorian crossdresser.
I make my own dresses, both virtual and in the real world.
Music enjoyment runs from EMB through goth, shout out to melodramatic anything (Leonard Cohen, Smashing Pumpkins, Terry Jacks).
Lover of pompous architecture, particularly Art Deco, Googie, Soviet, Facsist, and the entire city of Paris.

Any lover of pompous architecture is more than welcome here, as a quick glance around should make clear. You can be on the my side the next time lisarea and I take it to the streets over Art Nouveau.

Hauptmann translates as 'chief', so yeah kinda hardass. Although the first name sounds kinda Arab and the last name could be Jewish, so that was the first impression I got.

Also:
Funny story to that. Last time I ran into a forum Nazi I identified him as a Third Positionist based on something he said: "I am beyond left and right". He asked if I were a German Jew.
Kamilah is the Egyptian spelling if my information was right, meaning Perfection. (Yeah, yeah.)

Hmmm, maybe it's the Arabic jamilah, which would be gamilah or kamilah in Egyptian Arabic. Which means beauty I think. Though it might mean other stuff.

tremendous enough ass of myself to be laughed out of town
That goal is theoretically achievable, but humankind lacks the technology to make it happen at this point in history.

Has your father written a book?
That suggests the existence of multiple options:
1. One who has not made tremendous enough ass of himself to be laughed out of town.
2. One who has made tremendous enough ass of himself to be laughed out of town ...
a. ... and has in fact left town.
b. ... but refuses to leave town despite the tremendous assiness.

And six months in, I'd like to thank you guys for the level of discourse here. As the US election drags on in my other stomping grounds, the degree of ... I don't really know what word suits here best, the degree of , then, has continued to devolve.
