RIP Michael Nesmith, underappreciated musician/Songwriter, member of The Monkees, and son of Bette Nesmith Graham, the inventor of Liquid Paper.
First National Band, which Nesmith formed after The Monkees split up, was damned good but almost completely unsuccessful.
ETA:
Nesmith wrote the iconic tune Different Drum in 1964. The dumbasses who produced The Monkees teevee show wouldn't let them record it, so Nesmith offered it to Linda Ronstadt instead. The result:

RIP John Madden, NFL Hall of Famer who coached my Oakland Raiders from 1969 to 1978. He got one Superbowl, and surely would have gotten more but for the unfortunate fact that his tenure largely coincided with the glory days of the Chuck Noll-led Pittsburgh Steelers.

millennials and younger will know him for his Madden NFL football video game series which has released over 40 titles since 1988. For a number of years I was confused why an announcer would be given his own video game title.
