Crusader Kings 2 (brushing up for CK3), but also found the amazing 100 Stat Man series from The Spiffing Brit
Also a little bit of Imperator: Rome
Been on a bit of a Paradox Interactive spree as of late.

That game was terrific. It's not especially challenging and too short, but loads of fun just the same. The narration is hilarious and Chris Parnell delivers every line flawlessly. There's one point where your shark encounters mines tethered to the sea floor. The narrator tells us something to the effect that the town council really wanted to remove these mines, but blew the entire city budget hiring a Nickleback tribute band to play the 4th of July celebration.
I'm hoping for some DLC.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I've had a lot of time on my hands these past few months, I've completed Assassin's Creed:Black Flag, Assassin's Creed:Syndicate, Assassin's Creed:Origins (which has been my favorite in the series due to the fact that it's ancient Egypt)
I'm playing Control now. I really don't like first person shooters but I'm a sucker for all that X-Files type stuff so the storyline was intriguing to me. I'm at the last bit now and am irritated because I keep dying.

Cyberpunk 2077
Yes it has issues, especially on consoles, but the world is amazing.
Playing on PC so the issues there are mainly bad animations, sound glitches, etc. I have yet to run into a game breaking problem. Most annoying things, like randomly not being able to fire a weapon while aiming, are fixed on a save/reload.
See you in Night City, chooms.

Allow me to flog Cyberpunk 2077 on Stadia:
Cyberpunk 2077 shines on next-gen consoles and Stadia, but older hardware struggles - The Verge
That was literally the first nice thing The Verge has ever had to say about Stadia, so we were pretty excited by it.

I am glad to see Stadia die. Now we need XCloud and PS Now to follow.

16 hours played in the last 30.
And it’s not even a brilliant and innovative game, it’s just. Adorable.
Hint: even though they’re typically stuck to following a path, the paths, and many buildings, can be built underwater.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I bought myself a Nintendo Switch - mostly because I kind of like the idea of playing something handheld with the option of putting it on a big screen.
It came with a year of free Nintendo Online, so I got the NES and SNES simulators. I was reminded that I kind of like old NES game, but I always sucked at them.
I also downloaded Hades.
Hades is a Rogue-like game. You play a son of Hades who wants to escape Tartarus. You are aided by the Olympian Gods who give you boons which improve your gameplay. The game has an interesting concept - you're supposed to die, over and over again, building up your character until you can make it through. It's fun and pretty.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I've been plugging off and on a game that's on PSN called Rainbow Moon. Recently, I reached the final quest to complete the main story and boy is there a difficulty spike with the monsters. ;_; Battles take way too much health and items out of me, so I've been side questing to build up and buff up my party so they can take on the final challenges to come.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I'm so excited about Zelda:BoTW2 which is supposed to come out early next year that I went ahead and bought a Switch in preparation. I also bought BoTW1 to replay while I wait, but I haven't started yet. So the new Switch has been just sitting there by my TV for a couple weeks, unplayed. I will turn in my anti-capitalist card.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Are there any other Switch games that interest you? I would recommend Metroid Dread. While I haven't played the game myself due to my intense burning hatred of the Switch and it not being a 2D game in terms of graphics, I've passed it up. On the other hand, Metroid have been stellar in general and it really reviewed well.
Also, if you like turn based strategy RPG's, there's Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Project Triangle Strategy (which is an awful fucking name).

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Prior to reading your post I literally hadn't heard of any other Switch game besides Mario Kart which I don't really care about. I'll check those out, thanks!

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
For Switch... some recommendations (incomplete list for sure)
- Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: of course, you got it already
- Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening: an HD remake of the Game Boy game with charming graphics. Aside from improvements in controls and interfaces like the map and inventory menu, and not dividing up the world into single screen blocks, the gameplay is nearly identical to the Game Boy Color version of the game. So if you didn't like it originally, you won't like it now. But why wouldn't you like the original?
- Super Mario Odyssey - As usual, Mario offers pretty much the best 3D platforming experience anywhere
- Super Mario 3D World - A port from the Wii U, also some of the best 3D platforming anywhere. Levels are much more linear than in Odyssey, so the experience is a bit different. Includes Bowser's Fury, a short open-world addition for the Switch release.
- Splatoon 2/3 - a unique take on team-based shooters, but the single player campaign is worth playing too.
- Metroid Dread - I second the take. The graphics being 2.5D (gameplay is 2D, graphics are 3D) is fine. The controls are very tight and the gameplay is challenging. I'd say it's the best 2D Metroid aside from Super Metroid.
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - more 2D platforming. If you like DKC games, this one has great gameplay. But you know, it's not easy. The Switch port includes features to help you out if it gets too hard, though.
I have some indie game recommendations too, but I guess it depends on whether you like Metroidvania-type games.
I'd second Triangle Strategy if you like turn- and grid-based strategy RPGs.
