On Numberphile, they had a video today about the Phistomephel Ring



For any valid Sudoku, the 16 numbers in the ring shaded red, will always be the same 16 numbers as those in the four little squares shaded green.

There are other similar non-obvious relationships in Sudoku covered in the video:

Might sometimes help crack a tough puzzle that can't easily be solved using normal methods. Probably not, but interesting anyway!

Good idea. I'll make the top one, with the number, a link to that particular puzzle, and leave the one at the bottom as a link to the latest 'puzzle of the day'.

I still need to add some HTML to let the user easily select an older puzzle. A selector drop-down has too many choices though now. Without making some fancy search box or similar, it's perhaps best to just have a box that lets them type in a number - and then generate an error message if they type a number out of range?

You may need some error checking anyway, but <input type="number"> - HTML: HyperText Markup Language | MDN does have min and max attributes.
