I don't have any real problem with firing squad proposal. I just hope they don't plan on offering the traditional last cigarette. You know, cancer.
As for George Carlin's suggestions, I have just one small quibble. In his boiling oil scenario he recommends lowering the miscreant in head first. Too fast, what a waste. Feet first would definitely provide more entertainment.

You are sounding like a conservative, a liberal would insist on a quick painless death as the 'Humane' thing to do, I would think the conservative would be more willing to let them suffer a little, but I don't believe entertainment is the right word. But I may be wrong? Along those lines how about hanging by the feet? How long would it take for someone to die hanging upside down? If nothing else 'gangrene' would set into the feet and that would kill them.
Oh, one more point, when lowering into the boiling oil, would the rope be around the neck? But very carefully tied so as not to hurt them.

I am thinking that the rope would be tied around the wrists behind the back. More pain, less risk of premature expiration. I am also thinking that the rope could be partially retracted at random intervals. You know, for a sort of bobbing motion. Anything to make the show last a little longer.

Labor Department data, on the other hand, say that only 0.2% of layoffs have been due to regulations, making both the Republicans and the President wrong.
