Lego is an expensive hobby. We are lucky that there are lots of themes and sets that we have little interest in.

We like buildings and minifig or nanoscale. (So we don’t do the collectible busts and have little interest in most vehicles)

Sky is the limit though.

Cost is a common lament among
AFsOL and those not constrained by cost are generally constrained by space.

There’s a reason lots of people go notLego.

Some of the sites that sell knockofflegos (copies of Lego designs) also sell kits that are modded from Lego sets or designer’s MOCs. Some of that intellectual property is paid for, but much isn’t. Effectively tough, they sell large custom Lego builds that are unique. For the custom builds, you could spend 20 bucks on the instructions and then literally several hundred to a thousand dollars on bricks across dozens of brick orders from BrickLink or you can buy the 6k piece Lepin set for like 200 dollars.

Besides any moral issues one might have about intellectual property, the bricks are definitely going to be shittier.

Like I’ve previously mentioned, Ive gotten a few MegaConstrux sets recently, because I love the minfigs and the IP.

Even Mega Construx bricks are noticeably (though slightly) less regular then LEGO.

They also have some different pieces than LEGO like Lego has 1 and 3 stud plates and bricks all other sizes are even, and Mega has 5 stud plates.

Except for little MegaConstrux builds and custom minfigs, we remain a LEGO house of bricks

I played a bunch of Destiny and Destiny 2.

It’s a really fun gane.

I noticed there were Mega Construx Destiny sets.

This is our Diagon Alley shelf.



Diagon Alley set 75978 is hte nucleus of the build. I love the colors the set uses. We filled out the neighborhood with other sets.

I decided that I was cool with having police. We have good police that are antiracist and love community outreach.

There is also a Daily Bugle simple building that is pretty cute

I went to the Lego store today and got a couple sets. Also the Daily Bugle arrived, ES is putting it together currently.

I’m working on changing backgrounds with software.

I’ve been playing around with the app SuperimposeX. I really enjoy adding the backgrounds. It makes the pictures more “real”



The rebricked Colosseum castle looks pretty cool in a desert.

Okay, I put the Sanctum Santorum in the back and moved the Avengers Tower a little.

Harley and Ivy enjoy a quiet evening in.

Juggernaut is attacking the Dr Strange apparently which has brought out Professor X to the Uncanny Castle’s battlements.

Modok is fleeing Avengers Tower after Iron Man and Kamala Khan spotted him creeping about .

I made this one so we could see Ms Marvel and Modok better.

I loved that Modok before the show as it’s brick built which I like and it really captures Modok. After the show though it makes me love it even more.

After a lot of time without much progress, I feel like I’m back in the swing. I still have internals to do, but the Castle Wall and Inn Structure is going to be finished soon. Pics to follow completion, so I guess we shall see how optimistic I am being.

My roof is looking sexy as hell.
