You keep forgetting that his astute observations were valid, where many empirical tests are not.

So is Lessans only infallible when he sits on his special chair, like the pope, or all the time?
And do we need any clearer evidence for the fact that in your mind, if there is a conflict between reality and what your father said, reality must be wrong?

Are you going to use the questions raised on this thread, that might defeat the purpose of selling the book? Or will you post 'made up' questions that support Lessans claims? And if you allow viewers to post questions and comments, will you just delete the ones that you don't like or that contradict your father's book? Let us know when you do it and where it is, it might be fun to watch.

Re: A revolution in thought
You're all so sure of yourselves that he is wrong and you are right that there's no point anymore. I've given it my best but I cannot continue to read the horrible comments about him and myself. This mob attack will only continue to get worse. This is not the venue that I can discuss this discovery in any serious way. Once people go on the attack, the tidal wave of resentment, vitriol, and downright hatred doesn't stop until I'm beaten to a pulp. And you actually think this is not group think at its worst? I'm not going to be the butt of your jokes anymore.

It might have been different if you had actually tried to discuss the book and the ideas rather than just waving it around saying here it is isn't it wonderful, and if you don't agree you didn't read it.

...Aaaand once again we take the whole range of objections to this book and file them under "people don't understand because they are meanies" so that you do not have to face up to the very simple fact that the book itself is the work of a hugely ignorant person who wanted to promote himself as a sort of universal savant and failed. He happily blundered into fields of knowledge that he knew nothing about, sometimes without noticing.
You do not want to face up to this because it forces you to face a reality that is more complex and does not come with a promise of "And-she-lived-happily-forever-after." You would rather have a promise based on nonsense than a reality that is complex and unpredictable. You are not alone in this.
All this is undeniable, by the way, because it is based on an astute observation. You would understand if only you took the time to grasp the underlying relations.

You never really tried in any meaningful way, it was always 'you don't understand because you didn't read the book. You were always calling people liers when they said they read the book.

It would also have helped if there had been any real substance to the book, as it is you had nothing to work with in trying to sell a book with no real meaning or value.

Still, it gave us such marvels as the Internet Checkers, the Sexy Jacket and Translucent Robes - personally I think it is too much trouble and stick to a Sex Hat - and the real meaning of the word Instant Camera.

That brings back fond memories of my first Kodak Efferent-o-matic camera. Good times!

peacegirl lost a star due to the lack of "Fuck You!", but she had the required amount of martyred butthurt for a star and half, and I gave her another star for longevity.
I thought I was quite fair.

Oh, those are good. Fuck poor Mr. Tom and his cancer and fuck poor 8-year-old Joey and his chronic condition!
peacegirl will never top that.
