Strange it needs a electromagnet to make it work if its the motion of the earth.
Like I said, you guys will believe anything.

It hasn't. Read the link. Names referring to the star as at the pole date back only to medieval times.

Nonsense, they are claiming measurements soo small that they can be accounted for in the differences in the atmosphere, or the margin within the lenses.

Or distract from Flynn/Russia/Yates, just like when the Flynn thing broke suddenly Jerome was interested in random other things outside politics. If it was entirely about attention, a singularity of it could be generated in the anti-vax thread.

Hey Jerome, why are there stars that can be seen from the Southern Hemisphere, but not from the Northern Hemisphere and vice versa?

We don't have unlimited eyesight. Perspective.
Its the same reason you can't see the end of the hallway here:

Crumb, why is an electromagnetic need to make a Foucault pendulum work?

But that's not how the stars disappear. As you move south they disappear over the horizon they don't fade into a distance. And also (assuming you are using the model below or something like it for your flat earth) how do you explain the stars being the same between Australia and southern south America, when they are different in north America?

You can't see the end of the hallway because the resolution is too small, increase the photo resolution, boom, end of hallway. Back when more people shot large format film, some landscape artists would shoot a wide angle view of the landscape and then later zoom in to the negative to pick out detail shots. Too bad there's no mechanical way to increase our eyes resolution or to see in other wavelengths of light. Too bad indeed.

So if you have a good enough telescope you can see the northern sky from the south? You really believe that?

Re: Drive by science
Perspective. Learn how it works.
Its an observable testable repeatable phenomenon.
Its like real science and stuff.

It's too bad we dont have the technology and this stays speculation.
Can you explain perspective to us?

Re: Drive by science
We don't have any telescope technology that can see from one end of the earth to the other.
You are also discounting the atmosphere.

Are you just not going to try to explain why I can see the same stars in Australia as South America?

I'm guessing that Jerome has never been to either place, he's spending too much time watching you tube video's about the flat Earth. Most of what those people offer as proof is laughably wrong, and easily explained by real science, that they deny.

Think of it like a huge planetarium, sitting on the outside is the southern hemisphere, sitting on the inside is the northern hemisphere. Australia and South America would be on the opposite sides of the outside of the planetarium, the stars they would see would be the same.

Looks like this one really blows away your 'evidence', so you just ignore it ... very scientific of you.

The electromagnet overcomes the drag of the air, in a vacuum it wouldn't be necessary. The electromagnet just keeps the pendulum swinging, it doesn't determine the direction of the swing.

Re: Drive by science
lol
So the drag of the air is more powerful than the motion of the earth, but the drag of the air does not cause the motion, the earth does, and the electromagnet, much stronger than the motion of the earth and much stronger than the drag of the air, just makes it move .. but its the earth making it move .. or something .. in a direction.
Where the motion is started, of course, has absolutely no effect on its motion, of course ...
hahhahhhahhhhaah
